I bought the Tripp Lite 3 Outlet Portable Surge Protector for when I travel.

I didn't want a portable surge protector that plugs up against the wall outlet

I purchased this because of how unique the plug was, keeping everything together in a compact travel size.

I bought this because it seemed like a great "travel" charger

And the majority of he world uses 220v, so I found it mostly unusable for myself as a convenient travel outlet.

I of course had the correct international travel adapter and plugged it in and it TRIPPED THE BREAKERS in our room

Nice and rugged, and the green LED indicates when protection is working.

It does work great with 110 volts, everything charges well and the plugs work like they should.

It may well work great in the US, but there are lots of alternatives out there, and the "Belkin Mini Surge Protector Dual USB Charger" has always been rock solid in my experience when using 220 V.

The two USB ports work great for not having to carry around additional power adapters

The three outlets give me enough to plug in any electronic device which needs to use an outlet, the USB ports charge my smart watch and phone.

For those of us who travel a lot, many hotels' plugs are frequently difficult to reach, let along having to plug it "right side up".

but I mainly purchased this one because of the right angle plug.

This is a USB power supply and surge protector all in one, a nice compact unit, and nicely priced for what you get.

It's a great little unit, but I have to take it from five stars to three because an item of this caliber should be able to charge two smartphones at once

Upon plugging the device into an outlet in Korea, I heard a loud pop and it knocked out electricity in my hotel room.

Electrical pop, burning smell and black ash all over my hand, the first time I plugged it in.

We used an adapter for it, and each time we tried to use it, it blew a fuse.

You would expect that a "Traveler" power strip would offer a worldwide voltage compatibility of 120-240V, but no, this device only supports 110V. My fault for still having faith in humanity and not paying attention to the specs, but this power strip will blow a fuse when trying to use in Europe

It does the job, I had it plugged at a hotel for almost three days with my laptop AC Adapter going through it, but heats up to the point that it gives me the impression it is ready to catch fire, and smells like it is burnt (a carbon smell) on the inside.
