Slight wiggling the cords that are plugged in causes them to lose power, so for instance, we might find our phone batteries dead in the morning even though they were plugged in all night.

A cheap power adapter blew up upon plugging in but the strip and everything else plugged in was unaffected so it has survived some test under fire.

The unit is not a cheap plastic shell that will fall apart.

Small plastic dust shields are inside each 110 v opening.

Each plug has plastic inserts that guard against probling little fingers, or objects from dropping into the holes and creating a shock hazard.

So I bought one and use it when I travel as well as at home.

The noise was much quieter initially

The usb power adaptor makes a constant humming noise when I have something charging in it (which is every night to charge my phone.

Also others have noted a humming noise from the usb ports

Works great!Edited to add: I'm changing my review to only two stars, because the strip has started making a loud hissing noise if I leave a USB cord plugged in with nothing charging, or if you have only one USB port occupied out of one of the pairs

Constant humming noise is disconcerting from this china made outlet.
