Audio-Technica AT-LP3WH Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Stereo Turntable, White
Color:White
The at-lp3 fully automatic belt-drive turntable lets you take your analog listening experience to the next level with advanced Features not typically found on automatic turntables. The balanced straight tone arm comes with a 1/2" mount ...
So, for those who are looking for just an easy setup, a simple turntable that sounds good and plays vinyl with a 1.5 or 2 Graham cartridge, this turntable does the trick
I bought mine along with an AT95E cartridge, and the sound is beautiful in this combination.- Easy setup
Setup was a breeze - except for balancing the tone-arm, as the instructions are a little confusing
Setup of this turntable is quite easy, assuming you have a receiver ready to go with RCA jacks as inputs (and there’s also a ground wire on the hardwired cables).
I myself prefer the AudioTechnica digital turntable, if only because of other features in addition to digitizing capability (in my case, most useful for digitizing lp’s that have never been on cd, plus vinyl bootleg concert & studio material), so if digitization is what you need, pop a couple of bucks more for the LP120.
(auto cue is a good feature, until you get the ‘feel’ of cueing manually using eyeballing with the drop-lever
but I gave it the benefit of the doubt as it betters its direct competitor, the Denon 300F, but it falls short against its sibling, the Audio-Technica LP120.
However, this isn't a huge deal aside from cosmetics because you can easily put another cartridge on the headshell, it just won't look as good as it would with the headshell designed for that cartridge.
For me, what was important is that the product was easy to set up and sounds amazing
I'm sure there are people who will scoff at both sub-$500.00 turntables and automatic turntables, but I think this device is a strong competitor to the new hot product category of sub-$300.00 higher-quality turntables that Fluance is looking to dominate through higher quality at lower
Great product, great sound, easy to assemble, took me like 30 minutes.
I love their products and have been using them professionally since 1993

All in all a very solid, well designed, and well built device
Audio-Technica LP-AP3WH Fully Automatic Turntable Review:Pros:• Modern design / look• Weight on the tonearm is pretty accurate (double checked with a digital tracking force
But the AT-LP3’s features are what you will require for simple vinyl playback – simple design, easy to understand and use

1)smooth/quiet operation (unlike the similar Denon DP300F), 2) ground wire eliminates any motor hum, 3
Smooth quiet operation and a nice rounded dust cover and an interesting white finish make the AT a good mid-range table with great sound.

But if not, then the AT-LP3 (also comes in black – search for it) is a solid addition to AudioTechnica’s line of turntables, and you could do far worse for the money than get this one.

However, once all the pieces come together, this is a very nice addition to my home sound system

I'm not sure if that is due to my calibration of the counterweight, or if it's the arm/stylus which is better able to deal with poor quality records
If you’re looking for a much better system, others have noted different turntables that are direct drive, or even changing the cartridge on this one to improve the quality of sound.
Absolutely appalling quality
The needle needs to be cleaned regularly, and the sound is generally as good as the quality of the record
The sound quality of the Audio Technica is very good, better than the Denon if memory serves, which is somewhat surprising since both turntables appear to use identical cartridges.
Crisp and clear thanks to a pre-amp, ground wire (to prevent the dreaded vinyl hum), vibration dampening feet, adjustment pots and decent cartridge
While I don’t own an Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB Direct-Drive Professional Turntable in Silver, I don’t have to in order to see that for $50 additional you get a direct drive motor (no belt to replace EVER), a better cartridge in the AT95E > the AT91R, plus the ability to adjust pitch and reverse direction
Nice turntable, mediocre cartridge
If I can get my hands on a vintage turntable, I'm grabbing the darn thing and fixing a good quality cartridge to it.

Speed dead on, taller cartridge no problem and softer tonearm landing
The problem is that often the reviews of the audiophile will bemoan the lack of consistency of speed or a rumble and a platter which some people may not appreciate or even notice.
The 33.3 speed was a little fast out of the box (both Denons also suffered this problem), but luckily the Audio Technica has the same adjustment pots on the bottom of the plinth, and therefore I was able to dial in the speed using a small flat head screwdriver.
The AT-LP60 had issues when I bought it and took a lot of adjustment to get working right (pre-amp was garbage, arm would hit the cover when an album finished, height was way too low and I had to buy a really thick mat to make the needle touch the record) but my biggest problem with it was that the automatic arm would fail to return to it's cradle and catch on the edge of records (not a huge deal, just irritating)
