really clear and sharp highs good entry level turn table

It's simplicity, like the Rega 'tables is what makes it such a good entry point for serious record listeners.

The MMF for $299 with the Ortofon OM10 made for Music Hall seemed like the best deal going in new tables, so I couldn't pass it up.

I paid $360, which would have been an outstanding deal had there been no buzz

Of course, with both the MMF 2.2 and the Debut III at the same clearance price from some sellers the MMF 2.2 is the better deal.

This turntable replaced a classic Dual 1219 using a Shure Super-track cartridge which produced great sound since 1967

the tone arm would not balance at the right tracking weight, come to find out that the lateral bearings on this arm were bad (stiff).This one is due to be returned and NOT reordered.

This is unacceptable for a brand new and built by today’s standards TT.The tonearm cartridge assemble is very good and tracks remarkably well, it’s too bad that the Motor noise is the reason I returned this TT the same day that it arrived.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Regrettably I returned the first one and reordered another TT of the same Model thinking that this one was just a defective unit, well the new one arrived and guess what

If you're not familiar with turntable setup, I'd probably recommend the Denon or Audio-Technica automatic tables (the ones with adjustable tracking force and removable headshell) even though this manual table will sound better.

I was looking for a basic turntable with no frills but high end with a thoughtful design

and I'm glad this model came with the magic 2 cartridge which basically is a Ortofon OM10 which can be easily upgraded with just a stylis change.

It has a decent cartridge and my albums sound better than ever.

I don't know if the new vinyl thing is just a fad or what, but this is a solid turntable – good quality, easy to use and a great room piece.

It has a shiny black piano finish.

The piano black is a top notch class finish and I don't foresee and cartridge changes as I believe the performance level is perfect for my needs

That would be for looks only and just to hide it, so that beautiful black finish was uninterrupted on the top.

I would recommend the Rega RP-1 for the money.

In short Music Hall has horrible quality control and you'd be better off getting your turntable from a better company
