I notice that it picks up electrical noises you have to touch the turntable to discharge, and it picks up any vibrations on the floor so they need a better design on this item to isolate the electronics

Headshell is irremovable (not a good thing to some people), but great for beginners who want to make upgrading cartridges easier

Took me less than 5 minutes to setup and this is my first nice record player

The sound quality is great, the tone-arm is nicely damped and it has adjustable tracking weight and ant-skate built in, unlike cheaper record players

I really am hearing songs from a whole new point of view; I am old enough to have had a decent record player in my youth, and this turntable reproduces the feeling that I had then- there are times that the music is so good, you just have to sit, listen, and do nothing else.

Having said that, I can say that this turntable with it's balanced tone arm works very well on both older, and I'm talking over 50 years old, as well as brand new records.

As for some of the tech-y stuff--I haven't encountered (or, perhaps, haven't noticed) any issues with speed inconsistency.

Unfortunately, first thing I noticed was a loud thump, accompanied with a rumble

The loud thump heard upon turning on/off the unit was still there, but no accompanying rumble was present.

I found consistent reports with regards hearing loud thump through the speakers upon tuning the turntable on or off (even on Fluance's website)

any tapping on the base or dust cover comes right through as a significant thump

Beautiful looking record player, but it didn't work properly and had bad experience with customer service at Fluance

I would challenge any audiophile to a blind listening experience with a system twice as expensive and I would bet they couldn't tell the difference

Even though I set it up properly I got horrible bass feedback and resonance through the tone arm to the point that I would have to turn my bass control on my receiver almost to zero to stop it which detracted from my listening experience.

Well, about a minute later this annoyingly loud HUM feedback type of noise starts and never stops.

I am not an “audiophile”, but I like everyone want something that’s going to sound good and more importantly work as it should.
