I double-checked the setup, speed remained very inconsistent (randomly slowing down) to the point that I was unable to enjoy the music

I now hear a distorted version of my favorite music in my worst nightmares...

None of that can outweigh the frustration of your favorite music played at the wrong speed

but I like sweet music and this thing delivers quality sound

I realize that most of the reviewers would give it one star, but I rated it at two because of the plinth finish and the beautiful design (I still like the way it looks)

The tone arm does feel cheap and plastic-y and tends to bob a bit when you touch it

I am pleased to say that the turntable I received has had no speed problems AT ALL, even after not being used for days

I found consistent reports with regards hearing loud thump through the speakers upon tuning the turntable on or off (even on Fluance's website)

That crazy loud thump when you turn it on, my lord, the dog runs out of the room

Sound is dynamic with a crisp treble and punchy bass - don't dismiss this cartridge, especially if you don't mind having a second high-end cartridge for those mint albums (which we often did "back in the day".Only issues were a minor feedback issue that I suspect the slightly heavier RT-81 with it's solid base might be more forgiving of, and I found that the auto stop takes several revolutions before stopping the motor

I am not an “audiophile”, but I like everyone want something that’s going to sound good and more importantly work as it should.

Even though I set it up properly I got horrible bass feedback and resonance through the tone arm to the point that I would have to turn my bass control on my receiver almost to zero to stop it which detracted from my listening experience.
