The only thing I did not like is the color is not as nice as a standard phone can do
Previously had a Canon Powershot SD700IS which delivered superb pro-level pictures, sharp, clear and accurate color.
Wide angle shots are not as detailed as they were with the SX720 and the colors are simultaneously less vibrant and accurate (there is now a yellowish hue to outdoor shots)
Purchased the Black one-actually the color is dark gray/black on 6/15/17 and worked fine

macro capabilities are good and its medium focal length telephoto shots are sharp and detailed.
The macro capability is good; my closeup of the flower looked great in Lightroom but lost some detail when compressed--I think that's where the lack of raw data really hurts.

As I said in the headline it does take great pictures however, you do have to wait for it to focus on the object that you are taking...and it comes out great.
Takes great pictures, but doesn't have a flash that pops up, you have to raise it manually.
This is the first camera I have had that I cannot get to take crisp pictures.
I'm happy with it anyway though because it really takes fantastic pictures
Text the most amazing pictures even if you're not a great photographer

The G7X Mk II would probably take a decent landscape shot but that means a tripod to keep the ISO down. .
If you go indoors even with normal lighting, the shot will be noisy.
if you like shooting for long distance items (like wildlife, etc) and the camera is compact and easy to use
but I wanted an articulating viewscreen for an upcoming trip because I take a lot of garden photography and with an articulating viewscreen you get a lot more flexibility in framing a shot -- unfortunately the pictures are so poor I can't use them for anything.
When you change the setting in one mode, it changes it in all the modes so you can't have different setting in different modes allowing for easy shooting, as with other cameras
