The Eagles have always been one of the best bands around
The Eagles were the best American singles band of the 70's and all their really good songs are here
"Hole in the World," written in commemoration of the events of September 11, 2001.Listeners will be able to quickly discern The Eagles' evolution from a country-rock band in the early 1970s, with their flowing vocal harmonies, to the edgier hard-rock band they became in the late 1970s and early 1980s
The band broke up in the early 80's and Henley recorded his first solo
The Eagles are one of the best American rock bands, period.
This is the definitive collection of their greatest hits
This two-CD best of that far surpasses their skimpy first greatest hits sets (or the mediocre second one, which only plucks songs from "Hotel California" and "The Long Run," plus "Seven Bridges Road" from their live album), and isn't as overstuffed, I guess, as their box set
The Very Best Of" isn't really a "greatest hits" album per se; Not all of the songs contained in this compilation were released as singles, and therefore don't qualify as "greatest hits
Great CD with many great songs that are not on the greatest hits album.
I think the Eagles are a perfect example of a band where their lesser-known songs absolutely SMEAR their greatest hits.
Great CD, if you love the Eagles, this is the CD for you
This CD was obviously made from an old used vinyl LP and not a studio master.
That can I say, if you like the Eagles, no reason why you would not enjoy this CD.
However this disk I like all the others does not give song titles or anything not disappointed with the music Eagles are the best disappointed with the CD formatting big pain now for me to type in each song.
It truly is the BEST of the Eagles - all around great CD
It offers a bit of everything they've done from their earliest, country-rock hits Takes It Easy and Peaceful Easy Feeling to the poppier disco edge of One Of These Nights, the harder rock tone of The Long Run-era, their comeback single of '
It's "classic rock" entertainment at its very best, and a "must-own" for all Eagles fans.
Eagles are a Classic Rock Band not a modern Rock Band Fred
This is such great music to relax to, especially when you're bored of all the hard rock and metal
The Eagles was one of the most influential bands in what is now known as "classic rock"
or basslines like Green Day has in their super super awesome cds!??For good music avoid the Eagles and stick with real rock and rap like Drake, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Nickelback, Papa Roach, and Limp Bizkit!
So don't be trying to compare them to nu-metal rap/rock crap like limp bizkit.
The intro to "Hotel California" is garbage compared to Nickelback, "Life in the fastlane" has an annoying chorus that doesn't make any sense, and "Desperado" wishes it was as good as anything Limp Bizkit ever wrote!
I all ready had all these songs, I just wanted them on one cd
this guy is really just plain dumb if you have the chance read some of his retarded reviews want to kno where to find them just go to OPETH DAMNATION CD and clikc for 1-star reviews only and then come across a name that says FRED DURST NUMBA 1 FAn which is stupid sense limp bizkit sucks
I Should be able to BURN a backup copy from there or upload to a Cloud computer for use with the other gadgets I don't have!
I had lost my copy of one their earlier Greatest Hits and was very happy I could replace it with this one.
so I bought a hard copy of the cd

33 career-spanning hits and album favorites on 2 CDs
Includes Take It Easy; Witchy Woman; Peaceful Easy Feeling; Desperado; Already Gone; James Dean; The Best of My Love; Lyin' Eyes; One of These Nights; Take It to the Limit; Hotel California; Life in the Fast Lane , and more
This packed double-disc is the slim option for fans who find the Eagles' vaunted greatest hits sets too little and the boxed set too hefty
Hit singles large and medium are here, often ("One of These Nights," "Hotel California") still sounding definitive and even tough
Large helpings of favorite album cuts are also included, along with a taster from a promised 2004 Eagles studio reunion
Unfortunately, "Hole in the World," Don Henley's response to September 11, feels just as empty and entitled as "Get Over It," the band's previous state-of-the-union message (from which the newer song represents a philosophical 180-degree turn)
But for those seeking an overview of this Southern California juggernaut's successes, as well as telling comments from band members--mostly Henley and Frey--in a well-designed booklet, Very Best will more than do
