A friend recommended the non-back lit product and she loves it (bought 3 for her household), but then told us to get the remote with a backlight for night use.

This product stopped working 2 weeks after buying it and constantly had to be reprogrammed to the TV I was using

First of all make sure read the instructions, it comes wit a list of codes for the major brands so you can program it, don't blame the product if doesn't work as you need to understand how to program it first following the steps included on the item.

This one is < $10 and was a breeze to setup with both my TV and Apple 4K and it almost replaces the Siri remote (only tiny thing is, the mic feature of Siri remote is not available; but I can live without that)

For the simple reason that this remote comes pre-programmed, and has some other nifty features, I think it deserves a 5-star rating for doing what has to do, and a bit more

If it doesn't work try until you find the right one (two/three codes at most)

Going to keep it in case i ever need one for another tv and hopefully the codes will work.

For instance, I tried all of the codes for Xfinity in one category (none worked), I then tried the codes from other categories which listed Xfinity codes (none worked), then I tried a code under Comcast (owns Xfinity) and it worked

I followed all the codes for my model TV and it didn’t work.

The only downside to my understanding is that it only holds your codes for your devices for 10 minutes if the batteries die completely, but keep some batteries around, and don't worry about missing remotes or having to juggle up to four of them instead of this great product.

The blue back lighting makes it very easy to read, and it will turn itself off if the buttons are pressed .Decent remote for the price, set up needs to be easier.

My only issue is using it with Amazon or Netflix, it doesn't work well controlling those streaming services.

My backlight doesn't work so that's disappointing

I really like the backlight, but as with all universal remotes, this one doesn’t work for all the functions of the tv

It really didn't work as expected.

This remote works both of those devices, as well as my smart tv and DVD player

Awesome, it works just fine for our Sony DVD/Bluray and Sanyo TV.

First of all, it simply doesn't have enough buttons; it's missing the color bar buttons that are needed for some commands

the buttons feel mushy and it seems to be a bit slow as well.

The buttons that work, work well but many buttons do not work
