So be prepared to replace those items.over all a decent horn for an experienced tinkerer who has always wanted a tenor sax but couldn't afford one

solid for beginners and a great 3rd or 2nd horn for advanced players looking to add a Tenor to the mix.

This sax is a great place to start for someone learning the tenor without a tremendous investment and one of my daughter's previous sax instructors used a pretty inexpensive horn he bought online like this and loved it.

I did have to buy a better mouthpiece and have to put bigger corks on some keys but other then that very nice saxophone

Long story short, if you get a better mouthpiece this will work nicely for a beginner or hobbyist.

I use Yamaha mouthpieces because they work and are available everywhere

I also think something to clean the mouthpiece is worth having

My son is in beginning band this school year and his school recommends we rent an instrument at a local music store

My son has been using it for about a month now and has not complained about the quality of the sound, neither did his music teacher

So this is definitely a beginner sax but good enough for middle school

You also probably want to buy a better brand of reeds as the ones that come with it are poor quality, another important sound factor

Buy something worthwhile and of a better brand

Two nice things about this Glory sax are that its snappy good looks make you want to work hard to sound good on it, and that your practicing actually pays off in better sound

works well with most notes, thins out the sound in the upper register...intonation problem with G note...second octave...great looking horn

Of course, the looks of the instrument are meaningless if it doesn't play well, but this Sax sounds just as good as that

I am a highschool symphonic and player who scored a 1 at the state festival looking for an affordable sax that had a good sound

Imagine my surprise when this Glory B Flat Tenor Sax arrived and I got a look at it and had a chance to play it for a bit.

Saxes are easy to blow if they are working properly, a tenor is only slightly harder to blow than an alto

I love this tenor, and have been playing it for 30-60 minutes a day.

I had to buy a good mouth piece and good reeds, but that's a no brainer, I'm loving it and playing it a lot

The reeds are flimsy and have gotten a splinter on my lip from one of them.

Needs better MPC and soft reeds but beautiful after chops development amazing sound

If the reed doesn't work, use another one until you find one that works, less than half the reeds are usable in any name brand

I did a test, I wiped the cleanest reed clear of debris and submerged it in 100% distilled water in a fresh sterile cup, after 24hrs you can see the resulting growth as a cloudy goop in the cup around the reed and it clearly says the brand "GLORY"The weekend before I started practicing, I was stuck in a hotel room doubled over with dry heaves and the feeling as if my gut had felt the impact of a wrecking ball

It looks like an insanely low price, it is but the product is really awesome

The Kit comes with quite the assortment of mediocre products which I'll now go over briefly

It's a beautiful saxophone but it does not play any low notes I have to take it to the shop 😰

However, if you are a tenor sax player who is looking for a good sturdy decent saxophone to play for a few years you are better off just saving your money and buying something more reliable or if you are interested in playing tenor but don't wnat to spend a lot of money and not like it or be stuck with something cheap I recommended renting a tenor from your local music store.

I absolutely love this Saxophone, I've been playing Sax for about 10 years, and this has been my favorite by far, not only for it's gorgeous design, but also with the quality of its sound.
