I did see a warning about "device requesting too much power" from the monitor, but everything that I've read is that the Mac will safely negotiate the available power as part of the USB-C standard.

The cable I am using to connect the two is the usb-c to usb-c, and while it does the job, it can come out of the MBP port a little too easily and can compromise the display, without not damaging the product
