Cool idea and an excellent introductory instruction book
I love it, I think it's a great idea, but I had a number of issues with the product right off the bat
With some quick explanations, but honestly just putting them together gives you a pretty good idea what they do (though I must admit to having prior experience). The only real point of dissatisfaction is that the keyboard is both very basic/klunky (due to having just normal button switches, not "keys" per se), and very short in range
I had a hard time not opening it myself, since I thought it was such a cool idea, but, after telling my brother and sister-in-law that I loved them, I gave it to my niece

This kit is not only fun to play with and incredibly educational, it's actually a completely useable analog synthesizer and sequencer
Terrific analog sounds and sequencer on the top.
The flexibility of the modular synthesizer and its physicality lets the student comprehend concepts that otherwise require more time and energy to grasp, (such as signal flow, modulation, phase) without the cost and complexity of a full-fledged modular synth, but retaining its physicality, absent in the great-sounding virtual models of classic analog synths, with an not-at-all-intimidating, playful interface

mixer module - combines two different sounds(1) audio amplifier with speaker(1) manual explaining the basics and history of analog sound synthesisThe manual does a nice job of explaining the basics and history of sound and analog sound synthesis and also helpfully provides diagrams showing some interesting and increasingly complex configurations of the modules to experiment with but, paradoxically, only lightly touches on the idea of voltage control which allows other modules or the keyboard to adjust parameters like frequency for the oscillators and filter
Great job Korg!
If you ever get confused or can't get it to work, the included booklet does a great job of explaining what each module does and how it interacts with the others

The magnets are not strong enough and it is frustrating for little guys when they keep falling apart.
Secondly, the magnets don't hold together quite as well as one would hope, so occasionally, pressing on a key or turning a knob makes loud noises in the speakers as the connection breaks

Bonus was that I saw some cool projects on littleBits' site for ways to use the kit and combine it with other equipment
Though this seems to be designed with a younger audience in mind (it'll make a great school project or something along those lines), the kit and the literature it comes with will be useful for ANYONE who wants to learn the basic concepts

This is a great product to introduce young minds to the world of Electronics
It's a great product and fun for kids and adults who like making music, or just like to annoy the rest of their family
So I was not able to return the items for a refund and the mfg refuses to stand behind the situation caused by their faulty product as they cannot take back items sold by resellers.
I could be wrong, but I think we are paying a premium for the brand here as well as the actual product
These instruments weren't cheap, either; a very basic set of modules could easily cost more than a new car, and produced, by today's standards, very crude sounds
Considering this is a bunch of bits designed I thought to teach kids about the various parts of a synthesizer, the sound is quite amazing when patched out.
It has everything you need to get started with some cool sounds
But these are all very small quibbles compared to the sheer joy of building something and playing with the different parameters to create some amazing sounds
In case you're not familiar with old-school analog synthesizers, they were typically modular in nature (often requiring patch cords to connect the different modules together) and basically consisted of one or more voltage controlled oscillators (variable tone generators), a low-frequency oscillator, voltage controlled filters (variable sound modifiers), adjustable envelope generators, white noise generators and some effects -- you essentially generate one or more tones and then mess around with the pure sound to simulate musical instruments or to create a totally new musical instrument sound
