Reviews around quality (5.00 of 5)

  • This camera is so advanced with stellar photo quality I would recommend it to anyone.
  • so I needed a camera I could carry around all day and that had good image quality
  • But for those wishing to move into more advanced photography, I can’t think of too many other cameras that are more attuned to that process, and at a great price, to boot, and with very, very good image quality
  • I wanted a small, portable camera that delivered good image quality
  • it's still an amazing camera with great quality and so many great features

Reviews around option (5.00 of 5)

  • I have been using the camera over the past few days and found the options and controls to be fantastic
  • Panasonic, Tamron, and Sigma also have several lenses available for this system in addition to the options available from Olympus themselves.
  • Lets be honest there are better options in terms of cameras and customer service elsewhere so you should look and do the same when considering Olympus.
  • The E-M10 provided a cheaper alternative for her that still gives excellent photo options
  • I feel like there are better options out there such as Fuji and Panasonic.

  • I know, I know, by turning the camera off "I might miss the photo of a life time", but let me tell you the camera turns on instantly therefore I can get those photos I'm going for
  • Even though I call this a great “learning” camera, it can take fantastic photos, even with the least expensive Olympus lenses
  • In that sense, I would call this a “learning” camera, because you can take terrific photos with it and, in doing so, can learn all about the art (and technology) of photography
  • This Olympus takes awesome photos, is super easy to use (I don't know why people have so many issues with the settings
  • Takes great photos, and, is easy to use out of the box.

Reviews around feature (4.71 of 5)

  • Feels very good in my hands and has great features as a DSLR but much lighter and more compact.
  • It also has great features like composite shooting and so many others
  • The manual features on this camera blow away anything in its price range
  • it's still an amazing camera with great quality and so many great features
  • This camera is super powerful and packed with great features

Reviews around size (4.65 of 5)

  • Unfortunately, the small size of this model becomes a hindrance when you're inserting or removing a memory card or battery.
  • It's easy to use and it's just the right size for easy handling.
  • Approximately 8 months ago I purchased an Olympus PEN-Lite E-PL6 m43 camera and was really surprised by the compact size, manual control and image quality.
  • I am a huge fan of the m43 system for its compact size and excellent image quality
  • Pros:Great compact size cameragreat image stabilizationsharp imageCons

Reviews around image (4.56 of 5)

  • Olympus makes some very nice, inexpensive lenses for this platform (micro 4/3 format), and even the least expensive of them can turn out amazingly sharp images with good color
  • The build quality is excellent and the images are outstanding
  • I wanted a small, portable camera that delivered good image quality
  • but once again if you play with the settings of the camera it will compensate and give you sharp images
  • The camera produces amazingly sharp astro images (after that careful focusing!

Reviews around control (4.33 of 5)

  • Olympus has what they refer to as a super control panel, and it allows you to change most things most used via that onscreen
  • Approximately 8 months ago I purchased an Olympus PEN-Lite E-PL6 m43 camera and was really surprised by the compact size, manual control and image quality.
  • It is touch screen and the Super Control Panel works like a charm
  • This OM-D E-M10 II has a "focus peaking" feature that allows great crisp manual focus control.
  • Oh, by the way, there is one thing I absolutely love about the camera and can't live without it is the super control panel

Reviews around price (4.16 of 5)

  • The other camera I considered was Sony A6000 APS, but I missed the deal price on that
  • Other than that, it works flawlessly, has a brilliant EVF, a great range of reasonably priced lenses, and is nicely made and finished for its price
  • But for those wishing to move into more advanced photography, I can’t think of too many other cameras that are more attuned to that process, and at a great price, to boot, and with very, very good image quality
  • Yes, it only shoots at 16mp, and yes, it is a micro 4/3 sensor, but because the image quality is good and the price is very reasonable, the camera will stay in demand in the used market for some time to come
  • Wrapping things up, this is another outstanding OM-D camera packing an almost pro-level feature set in a lovely body for a very convenient price, supported by a great selection of high quality lenses

Reviews around lense (4.08 of 5)

  • The good news there is that the M 4/3 lenses are MUCH less expensive than their DSLR counterparts.
  • * Good quality lenses available for Micro 4/3 platform at reasonable
  • If like me you prefer prime lenses, this system is great
  • I just played around with them and figured them out pretty quickly!), and the lenses are cheap
  • Even though I call this a great “learning” camera, it can take fantastic photos, even with the least expensive Olympus lenses

Reviews around battery (2.46 of 5)

  • I don't understand why they build the whole camera so solid and used a flimsy plastic battery door
  • Decent battery life++ Neck strap that is really not bad (many cameras, even expensive ones, come with crummy neck
  • In fact if you look at the review sites the images are as good as with lens costing many times as much
  • The D7100 has better low light performance, and a much better battery life, but the E-M10 is easier to carry around and has a better tactile experience
  • ( I love this filter excellent B&W)This will Soon be a favorite given its size , power , many lens available.

Reviews around noise (1.69 of 5)

  • I hope there is a way to get rid of this humming noise while recording videos without disabling IBIS
  • When I shoot a movie while handholding the camera with the IBIS ON, this humming noise gets recorded and is really loud and noticeable (really an issue for videos)
  • I typically convert the EM10II Raw files with the DNG converter and process in Photoshop CS6 but at this high ISO I prefer to start with the superior noise reduction and distortion compensation of DxO OpticsPro
  • It's AWESOME!... except that the IBIS creates a humming noise when the shutter button is half pressed-to focus-while taking stills (not really an issue for stills)
  • Overall i would advice you to get the body alone and find a good lens , if you can go for the Mkiii since its got less noise at the final image thanks to the newer processor but yet again noise can be reduced drastically withing the settings and by taking low shutter speed pictures

Reviews around menu (1.26 of 5)

  • The menu may be a little confusing at first , but you just have to get used to it
  • The menu can be confusing at first, but the camera functions are customizable
  • Some reviews covering OM-D cameras complained about overly complex menus, but I have not found the menu system to be overwhelming
  • Menu and options settings are not very intuitive, really need to by a book on this camera if you want to get beyond the basics
  • As other reviewers here and elsewhere have mentioned, the Olympus menus are kind of confusing, but if you take the time to learn them (use your manual), there are a ton of customization options that will help you adapt the camera to your shooting style
