Pros:Great audio quality, crisp sound, very sturdy and sleek construction, all aluminum, no cheap plastic, fantastic noise reduction padding, headphone hinges click into place magnetically so you don't have to worry about fussing with them liveCons:weak bass, mono/stereo switch seems useless as it kills your dynamics and "fullness" of sound

I've heard nothing but good things about these headphones & the aluminum casing made me think that the construction was sturdy enough to put on an elephant

The hi-hat frequency (around 7-8khz) is unchanged, giving DJs a better feel of the beat, and the bass is boosted a bit making these indeed great for DJing

The metal alloy construction on the Pioneers gives it a sturdier feel compared to the plastic on the Sonys

This Pioneer HDJ 2000 are the best set of Headphones that I Ever had

I decided I'd go for it, I'd been looking for a decent set of headphones for a while, but was worried by comments regarding build quality on the others I'd looked at

The pioneer's are a comfortable set that doesn't chock my neck

I use these pair of headphones for a wide variety of things, I used to own a pair of beats studio and by far I've enjoyed these way more after owning them for a couple of months

Where my Denons come through with good, clean bass response, these Pioneers do too

They are not THAT heavy, but honestly i rather to use this type of headphones cause they are much robust than others, especially when the most important thing is the sound quality, and pioneer HDJ2000 don't let you down with its perfect bass and treble allowing you to enjoy your favorite music.

Not a strong bass but very nice balance through out all songs of all types.

Well its been over 2 years since I bought these and aside from some of the plastic snapping apart and having to buy the replacement parts direct from Pioneer (at ridiculous prices) these are the best "sounding" headphones I've owned

I expect that over time once they wear in a bit they probably will sound even better than they do new out of the box.- Price on them is actually very good for what you get

Pioneer still has work to do on the headband as there are still too many plastic pieces being utilized in the moving and retractable parts on this set

These are very expensive headphones designed for the rigors (and abuse) associated with being a road DJ.. trampled cords, pulled cords, repetitive on/off, throwing them down, dropping them, stuffing them into a bag etc etc.. for this purpose they are perfect

The design of the HDJ-1000's is solid; however, for long spans of listening or monitoring audio/DJ'ing, they do get uncomfortable
