You pretty much have to readjust after each punch, and this wastes times and paper as it would take several attempts to get it "just right".If you use A5 6-ring filofax style planners/journals, do not waste your money on this particular punch

While this is a minor annoyance when you just want to punch holes and add a sheet to your notebook, the paper guide does not click into the right spot for an A5 sized paper.
Had a little difficulty getting the holes in just the right spot to fit my planner.
The extender broke off, where you line your paper up to so the holes get punched in the right spot
If your paper is not A5 size but you are wanting to punch to put in an A5 binder, you will either need to trim your paper if it is even a little larger than A5, or else the punch will not place the holes in the correct spots for the binder.

I have changed datebooks several times trying to find the right size and so far this has worked with all of them.
It does punch A5 size, make sure you watch the instruction video, it shows how you have to position the paper to punch the first set of holes, then flip the paper to punch the second set of holes.
I love the small size so it doesn't take too much room on work surface.

Find something that will punch all sizes, easily and with one push.
If you need to punch half size letter sheets I did find a solution.... set holes to A5 guide, pull out slider to A5
When I punched my first sheet, the holes where a little close to fit, but I pulled the guide out a little further and marked it with a permanent marker to get the right fit
No problem punching through a few sheets and even laminated tagboard, but won't punch through much more than a few sheets at a time
Works great, you just can't put more than 5 or 6 sheets of good paper in, they will get stuck.
I tried it with an A5 already punched sheet from Happie Scrappie and it didn't line up with that either
You have to adjust the paper guide and punch the first set of holes, then flip the pages and punch the second set of holes.
The two sets of three holes this punches are too close together to be used in the A5 filofax.
That would be the only reason I would opt for an adjustable A5 punch over this, so there would be no trimming, no double punching to get both sets of holes like with this punch.
