Reviews around component (5.00 of 5)

  • After our Samsung 5-disc carousel HTIB stopped working, I went looking for only a home theater system (no DVD/CD combos) thinking individual components would be better.
  • I prefer separate components than can be easily & economically replaced if they fail without replacing a whole system

Reviews around subwoofer (5.00 of 5)

  • i actually am still using the original subwoofer because its actually half decent
  • Crystal clear sound quality, however does not get very loud & the subwoofer is barely audible.
  • Easy color-coded setup, easy to use, headphone jack, multiple speaker setup options, decent sound quality, surprisingly good subwoofer with its own on/off switch

Reviews around sony (5.00 of 5)

  • I suggest you pay a little more and get a Sony (my Sony was awesome (although it's protect circuit gave me trouble at first too))
  • The sony looks more modern vs this unit beside that i rather dish out 140.00 vs 400.00 same sound not price

Reviews around vizio (5.00 of 5)

  • I'm actually writing this review after replacing this unit with the highly praised Vizio VHT510 soundbar
  • The Vizio is a good compromise between style & quality so it works better for my living room

Reviews around cd (5.00 of 5)

  • so it was a 5-CD capable system, although that unit won't shuffle amoung discs and you have to manually advance a disc when it's done playing - unless you burn an MP3 disc
  • If you want to really kick out the db's for the listening experience of your favorite music cd's, use your tv as a pre-amp and loop the audio back to the RCA unit

Reviews around receiver (5.00 of 5)

  • That's not to say it sounds as good as my $1,000 Yamaha receiver, but for the price of a decent boombox, it absolutely can't be beat
  • Both of these units cost much more than my RCA home theater system and I must say I enjoy the RCA receiver much more

Reviews around look (5.00 of 5)

  • AM/FM + nicer look + higher quality + fiber/coax inputs + preset eq's6
  • However, if you're an average person: this thing gets plenty loud, has good bass, sounds pretty good & looks cool enough

Reviews around power (3.61 of 5)

  • I certainly has enough power to scare the cat out of the room
  • The amp has this power-save or noise reduction scheme that turns off all power to the speakers when there is any silence, and doesn't power them back on for almost 0.5 seconds when someone breaks the silence
  • The satellites sound nice and with a little tweaking for the room and your preferences, it sounds fabulous and again, has great power.
  • It is still a 1000 watt receiver & powers very well.

Reviews around quality (3.04 of 5)

  • Crystal clear sound quality, however does not get very loud & the subwoofer is barely audible.
  • Instead you get Chinese made, lower quality junk
  • The quality of the unit isn't bad but nothing spectacular
  • To summerize, the sound quality is satisfactory and the price is good
  • is???The quality seems to drop on digital + analog, but it's worth 100 bucks more than my Regent for 49.005
  • Read remaining 8 reviews for quality

Reviews around sub (1.00 of 5)

  • The RCA Rt2770 comes with 4 satellite speakers, a similar center, and a passive sub.
  • The overall volume is a little on the low side, which is mainly hampered by the smallish speakers and the passive sub - replacing any of these will allow the amp to push more volume, but some may prefer the smallish speakers as they are compact and easy to hide.
  • Fortunately, they are so small as to be barely noticable (visually). While the sound is warm and clear, the receiver seems to have a rather low maximum volume compared to other home theater systems, but I think that has more to do with the small size of the speaker cones limiting the amount of air they can move, and the fact that the receiver has to do double duty driving the passive sub

Reviews around thing (1.00 of 5)

  • One bad thing about this receiver is the fan noise, it is quite loud, like an old PC
  • However, if you're an average person: this thing gets plenty loud, has good bass, sounds pretty good & looks cool enough
  • Anyone that's claimed this thing isn't loud or isn't powerful probably hooked it up wrong
