The iOS remote app is very handy, the pairing the universal remote to all my devices via onscreen directions & codes was awesome, the wireless firmware update was very smooth, and what a beautiful looking set of speakers

If your looking for great sound at this price I would so recommend this system over any sound bar.

Yes I did find several options at a cheaper price (and even some more expensive), but none with a renowned brand and/or with all the features offered in this system

Very pleased once I setup and tuned the speakers it sounded awesome good product for a fair price....

As a casual audiophile, this product works fine in our 25x25ft family room.

But without sound and apparently no one to help with that issue I can't recommend this product.

If you are just looking for very good surround sound and not too expensive, then this is what you need.

Unless you’re an expert audiophile and can put together your own system this is a perfect complete surround sound system.

Obviously any proper surround sound system will be set up with HDMI pass through

Only issue, had to contact manufacturer for a "clicking" sound in right surround channel

Its surround sound, loud has some kick to it

Dolby atmos is awesome and the sound is great, this is an awesome upgrade from my previous system, have it connected with my samsung 4k tv and samsung uhd player

The fronts and center still sound static-y and shallow, and I can't get the subwoofer to make any sound.

The point is the apps/remotes are pretty piss poor quality but the sound and look of the system are A+.

Sound quality and controls are pretty well for the price.

The Speaker wire that came with the system is not good quality and you will lose much sound

This particular onkyo receiver doesn't hold much power, which may be the reason why the sound quality for streaming and television may be so weak

speakers have unbelievable sound reproduction and sound quality!

The sound is terrific, setup was a snap and we are enjoying it immensely

the sound itself isn’t even as impressive as my last setup and this is supposed to be the Atmos leap

Setup was extremely easy and the included microphone helped streamline that process even further by choosing the basic sound settings on the receiver

yet I did not have the money to purchase an extremely expensive setup.

The front right and front left speaker actually have 2 speakers in each one.

The speakers sound terrible, I should have just bought the receiver directly or one in the Onkyo lineup

I believe if you mount them on top of the front left and right you can 'daisy' chain or connect the positive and negative wires directly to the back of the front left and right speakers

On the Onkyo SKH-410 details it says you can mount these to the top of the front left and right speakers or use them individually

2 for the front firing, and 2 for the "height" or top firing speakers

While it was used it came packaged very well and the entire unit looked like a new one.

so maybe I'm just splitting hairs.update: After reading the manual further if you set the hdmi thru setting correct the unit doesn't have to stay on for this function to work

WELL WORTH IT, not just the unit but also the time it took to get it dialed in

It states wireless speakers which it is not but unit does well for size.

Can't say if I possibly got a bad unit, or not, but I wasn't satisfied and returned the unit.

During setup process, the receiver would freeze & flicker when it came to step 5 for the ARC setup.

The first package I received was damaged and the receiver had a huge dent on it.

Receiver has audio loss and static after only 7 months of use on conditioned power

Not only does the receiver work great, Onkyo stood by their good name.

Onkyo support has been useless and now I have to pay to ship the unit back for repair

I am extremely unhappy about the quality of the product, and the support I have received from Onkyo

I really want to give it 5 stars but it was so frustrating to update the firmware that I was on the brink of returning it-mostly because the support you can find online is pretty bad

Now on to the more important issue, they "according to Onkyo website and poor tech support" only have limited repair facilities, as an example if you live in San Fran, your closest repair is "billybobs tv repair on Edinger ave

I think there may be limitations on dolby atmos being used it not recorded atIn all, better hdmi ports support up to 60hz at 4k resolutions, addition of dolby atmos sound mode(s) and to use dolby atmost out of the box, more sound output, wifi and Bluetooth built in, accueq replacing auddyssey almost negligible (I would still love to see audyssey over accueq but onkyo just didn't want to pay for licensing of audyssey but negligible since I explained both are almost same thing plus accueq was developed with dolby and onkyo so it might be better for the dolby atmos mode if used

Then while watching tv it started making odd static noises, squeaking and loud thud and pop noise then the sound stopped working.

If your interest is loud noise by all means the newer systems are the ones for you.

Well I had this for about a year when the receiver started putting out a terrible humming noise to the speakers.

When I bought this system I thought it was an incredible value, but after less than a year of not very intense use, it started shutting off whenever there's a loud noise in whatever I'm watching.

After a couple hours of troubleshooting (trying different HDMI ports, reconnecting the speaker wires, resetting the unit, etc.) it simply seemed like any time the sound ramped up or there was a loud noise the unit would switch off.

the sub-woofer had a capacitor/transistor blow (lovely sulfur smell)

This is replacing a 12+ year old Onkyo system on which the sub woofer and one of the front speakers had gone bad, crackling so bad they had to be disconnected

My neighbors hate me, because this thing pumps the noise

This system is the one for you if you DO NOT want to disturb the neighbors

It didn't bother me, but I turned the subwoofer down to avoid upsetting neighbors I share a wall with

It's loud and can really upset your neighbors (especially if he/she is one of those who complain over you sighing
