It's just the right height to keep them from trying to jump over it, and it's easy for me to just step right over.

Our dog is too lazy to jump over a gate and this extra height makes it a pain to step over especially when the gate stands in the way of my morning coffee

This product barely stands up on it's own let alone if someone or something bumps it

Don't worry about breaking it - the bamboo is strong and flexible

and the dark bamboo goes along nicely with the cabinets in our kitchen!

There are marks from the latch which has stained the bamboo with rust
