Easy install, responsive touch screen, attractive interface (when not in Car Play mode
I managed to make it work by partitioning the drive down to 2 GB and reducing byte allocation and read speeds through formatting tools, but consumers should not be forced to format their post 2006 flash drives with commercial format tools just to update their stereo to fix a problem from Sony's poor R&D.My final verdict is that, while Bluetooth is great, I bought this for Android Auto, and frankly, that feature just doesn't work
The Pioneer and others we too reliant on the touch screens or I simply didn't like the interface
It does have a nice interface and accepts the video signal from my backup camera just
This receiver looks nice the screen is beautiful and the interface is far more attractive then any other offering especially the pioneer appradio for example
If you're looking for an aftermarket radio with the best features for a great price, you can't go wrong with this.
I had this unit professionally installed a few weeks ago and there are alot of great features
No HDMI inputNo HD radioNo customizable screen, colors, etcOnly a 10-band eqNo time alignmentOnly has 2v pre-outsThere’s other missing features I’ve forgotten, but what really turned me off was simply a VERY basic headunit at a premium price
Hers a rundown of missing features that made me return this in one day for a better Pioneer
Excellent deck, great sound and features - I would highly recommend
I would not hesitate to enthusiastically recommend this product

*Great product overall - I would like to see a little expansion of stock GUI and file browsing + a little storage in the future, however for the price you can't beat it-
As an Android Auto head unit, the Sony XAV-AX100 is not a good product
Great product, however, CarPlay doesn't automatically connect all the time.
I highly recommend this unit to anyone who drives an older luxury car who is looking for something that isn't mostly shiny black plastic riddled with accent lighting, over-the-top knobs, and futuristic font choices
Best head unit on the market if you are looking for a simple unit with ONLY carplay and backup camera support
Its mostly as expected, apart from the mildly fuzzy looking display
My only suggestion is try to find a camera without the fake backup grid on it because it doesnt help at all and this unit ALSO overlays a much better grid on the backup camera...and with two grids it gets kinda messy looking
Its fairly easy to install, has great features like Android Auto, Car Play, Navigation, Back Up Camera input and has a great classy look that helps it blend into cars interior.
Although it was not what I expected when it made it to me the radio still works nicely but could use a few upgrades.

The built in amp is easy to remove and this radio is already limited on audio sources, so you want to have FM/AM
As of this writing the radio gives out a high pitched noise keeping the user from making any calls
Especially when this stupid radio is double DIN on the face and single in back
I kind of need the extension, as the USB connector is located on the back of the unit, and I can't very well remove the unit every time I want to plug my phone in
but FM I get no reception for any stations, just weak signal and static.
I finally realized that it is not buffering at all, so even losing signal for a second results in a drop in audio
Sound quality is fantastic, call quality is great and everything simply works as it should.
My mode button is now a Voice / Siri button)*Super Responsive UI - Everything in CarPlay feels as if as fast as on the phone.*In carplay Siri works instantly, No lag like other head units

I'm warning you right now you will get irritated by the boot up message you have to
The only draw back so far is there is no way to disable the warning message that displays each time the unit is started

This could be a great stereo, but the fact that the option to program custom steering wheel control buttons doesn't work, the fact that the clock is erratic, and the fact that Sony's support has been absolutely useless, mean that I cannot give a good rating.
The Bad:First and foremost, the clock doesn't work
