DO NOT be taken in like I was ... avoid these shelves AND all of the other products this company produces
This limitation is solely due to lack of appropriate hardware to adequately secure the shelves - something South Shore knows, but is too cheap to fix.
Super sturdy, the 3 middle shelves can be adjusted to any level.
I have had to nail the shelves in place to stabilize them.
For me, I could always use one more shelf at the top (to accommodate my extensive book collection), but the 5 adjustable shelves fit plenty of books, knicknacks, and a fern plant on the top; they're really quite sturdy
I'm no furniture and/or wood expert, so this is just my opinion: this bookcase isn't the best thing you could get on the market, but an extremely satisfactory and practical buy
They were a good buy and I am looking for desk furniture now from the same company.
This is an affordable bookcase and took my husband about an hour or so to put together
Bookcase looks great, harder to put together than expected though,
The bookcase was easy to assemble, instructions were clear, all parts were included, all holes were drilled correctly, there were no flaws in the condition of the shelves or case and it was promptly shipped.
This bookcase is nice and slim, was really easy to assemble and looks great!
Was looking for a cheap inexpensive bookcase and this fits the bill.
The bookshelf looks awesome in my opinion, it's clean and simple, just what I wanted, the bookshelf isn't hard to put together, it took me about 30 mins.
Overall though the bookshelf is nice and thin and fits where I need it.

This is an inexpensive bookshelf, so I don't have the same expectations I would for a quality piece of furniture found in a furniture store
Sitting at either side of my ivory couch, these bookshelves add an exceptional flair to the living room
I broke down the box and discovered they sent me two right sides and not a left
The box came slightly damaged (corners crumpled, rip in one of the sides) and when I took the pieces out I got a bent shelf corner and the top piece broken and bent, pictures provided
Only negatives are that one box came bashed up and a corner is broken a bit
Opened the box and the whole side of bookshelf is completely cracked and useless

One of those boards came with sharpie lines down the main side and several box cutter slices; the other board was split and cracked down the front edge
so I do not chip the CHEAP particle board
A few boards came scratched, but nothing I couldn't hide by flipping it over

Let's be clear, I'm this impressed because I paid less than $45 a piece for these and they still hold up extremely well despite being made of cheaper material
