This is the first paper mario game that I have purchased and I didnt realize it was going to be so much dialogue and not enough game play.
Wish there were more worlds to beat/explore, but it was fun playing with my 6-year-old.
Goes more into the 3D realm than the last 2 but has some great game play.
In summary: great dept of story, wonderful game-play, and a fresh approach that never loses its luster creates a game that is both so surreal that it doesn't feel like a Mario game but literally couldn't be anything else.
It's more of a side scroller action game rather than an RPG, like the GC version was.
You get the best versions of Luigi, Peach, and Bowser; but you're introduced to a host of characters who are so well developed that it almost makes you resent how so many other Mario titles don't further their best portions.
I loved the the GameCube version and the 64 version and I even enjoyed the sticker
Sticker Star Video Game for Nintendo 3DS and really enjoyed that version although Thousand Year Door is still my favorite

GameplayThe gameplay for this title, in short, is fun and entertaining
If you like the original turn based gameplay from Paper Mario 64 or Paper Mario TTYD then you won't really enjoy this latest edition to the series
The gameplay for this game is extremely creative and fun, but I estimate that about 60% of this game is cutscenes where you have to read a bunch of text
1) the graphics are actually worse than original mario 2) the game is loaded with time consuming text bubbles and short on game play time 3) the text bubbles are weird and poorly written

That didn't bother me (as you can see by my review, I too am wordy), and I rather enjoyed the dialogue myself
In 2-D, however, the graphics are exceptionally stylish and eye catching
Pros: Fun puzzles, great graphics and color, all your favorite aspects about the Paper Mario series
Now that it is at such a reasonable price, this is an even sweeter deal
So if you have been unwilling to pull the trigger on this game due to a higher price, now is your chance to dive into the game for a cheaper price and have unlimited number of hours of fun
Almost through the whole game, the only characters I was completely comfortable with were Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Bowser
I miss the unique characters like Admiral Bobbery the Bob-omb, Yoshi, and Koops that join you on your quest

The only RPG anything in this game are items, and the fact that after a certain amount of "XP" points, your characters level up and gain more health, more damage in attacks, etc

This is a great game for anyone that likes puzzles and figuring things out.
The puzzlelike quality of getting from point A to point B using the 3-D mechanic is brilliant, and the puzzles were quite excellent throughout the entire game

because you have four controllable heros to switch between, all with different strengths and abilities, the boss battles are fun puzzles in their own way
Also, the story really blew me out of the water, and i thought it was beatifully planned out
At the reduced price of this version, I think it's worth a buy if you like silly, fun stories
i'm not abig fan of shooting games so when i can find a game that has a good story and is fun i by it
Overall, I highly recommend this game to any adults or kids that want a funny game with a great story and puzzles that are just the right amount of difficult.

It starts out pretty basic, an evil magician is trying to destroy the world, and it's very vague, but as the game goes on more mysterious things happened, more characters are introduced, and at the end, everything falls into place, and there is the biggest most suspenseful and surprising plot twist there could be
You immediately got a sense that The Crystal Stars are the keys to chaos and there's an obvious big bad at the end who wants to enslave/destroy the current world

The characters/creatures are boring/incredibly stupid looking
Aesthetically, the landscapes are boring looking when you recall the 3D paper maché look of the previous games, and there aren't any hidden areas not required to get through the chapter
