Reviews around system (5.00 of 5)

  • Supposedly the S shaped arm available on higher models make them better at tracking warped records with less stress on the grooves, but I think it's mostly a style thing now
  • This system is very easy to use - just put in the cassette tape and a blank CD and hit "record" and then "play" (right after you get the tape going)
  • Supposedly the S shaped arm available on higher models make them better at tracking warped records with less stress on the grooves, but I think it's mostly a style thing now
  • I highly recommend this system for "low tech" folks like myself who don't want to mess with computer files and MP3's.

Reviews around sound (5.00 of 5)

  • It provides adequate sound as a stand-alone unit, but it does have aux-out RCA jacks (along with a matching "aux-in" pair) so that I can run it into my amplifier and external speakers for better sound
  • David added a pair of Klipsch speakers to enhance the sound, but it sounds good on its own also
  • Supposedly the S shaped arm available on higher models make them better at tracking warped records with less stress on the grooves, but I think it's mostly a style thing now

Reviews around value (5.00 of 5)

  • This one sneaks in under the radar with the best value.
  • The TN550 has a servo controlled motor, so speed regulation will be much better (the TN-300 and below are hand calibrated, could drift over time). All together, this is a solidly made, great value turntable.

Reviews around cartridge (5.00 of 5)

  • - the TN400 has different colors and a better cartridge.
  • Ignore the "SE", this is the same as the TN-300 apart from the available colors (no gloss options)It comes with a decent "DJ" cartridge, the AT95E, which is definitely better than the no-name one in the TN-200 or 100
