doesn't work with comcast xfinitiy cable box as advertised.
This did not work as advertised.
While this product works as advertised, it failed the MOM test.
This works just as advertised, but I wish they'd include just one more feature.
It not only worked as advertised it was simple enough to operate that my mom could easily see the large buttons and operate it without any real issues.
Although the remote was very easy to set up with the TV and direct TV box, I didn't realize that you can not program favorite channels
This method works if only one station or pre selected favorite channels are watched from the cable box or satellite dish
On/Off, "Mute", Volume, Channel (we restricted the channels on the TV, so it's just 2 channels and she won't get lost)
The cable or Satellite box can also be set to selected favorites with the top favorite channel selected as the power on
Just a comment regarding this product - we bought it with the idea that it would help my 90 year old father-in-law who is almost blind change channels, however this remote isn't compatible with the receiver for satellite tv.
The mute button is not needed, only serves to confuse the already confused user
It's perfect for older users with limited or no vision, and for young, unsophisticated users, particularly when they only watch a couple of channels most of the time (no numeric digit keys)
I would recommend this remote for any elderly person who only uses a tv because those remotes with the dvd/vcr controls only serve to confuse the elderly user.
This was a great idea, however it the user has a TV and a Cable Box or Directv then this will not work with it
Each button lights up to find in a dark room or a person with bad vision.

When a fragile, elderly person tries to use the "cable television remote" with scads of buttons, it proves to be one error after the other.
This is really expensive as far as remotes go, but it is the only option for a legally blind, elderly person
Even though it didn't work out for my dad, it is a really good product and if the senior citizen in your life still has good vision, good motor skills to quickly press and release the channel buttons, and can recognize the channels as they change, this should be great for them.
She has limited vision and has a hard time figuring out new things, and the Tek-Pal works well for her.

I bought this remote for a family member who is elderly, and because of poor vision has trouble using regular remote
This remote control is one of the best buys for those with big fingers and bad vision
I highly recommend this to anybody with older family members that have issues with large overly complicated remotes or especially folks with memory issues.
Very disappointing needed something simple for my elderly mom who has some memory issues will continue to look for such a remote
My mother-in-law is almost 90 and having some memory issues (early dementia)
It is tedious for an elderly person with memory issues to push the CH+ button to find the station he wants.
Elderly father with memory issues prefers this remote (vs remote supplied with television) as it is simpler to use.
