I used a really nice expensive kingston (advertised for use with SDXC) before, looked amazing, solid sturdy metal unit, KILLED all of the images on a 64gb card!!!

USB 3.0 is fast enough that it wouldn't be the bottleneck
(I need the Lexar reader for CompactFlash camera cards.)It's tiny, so is easy to store and transport, and doesn't need the typical bulky, stiff USB 3.0 cable of other readers.
A big step-up form my old USB 2.0 version...until I lost it.
One thing is that when they are brand new sometimes the micro SD slot can be a little tight the first two or three times it is used, but after that everything works smoothly
only thing i would complain about is that it is hard to access on a desktop usb hub without picking the whole thing up to get at it.
I have one of each, I haven't noticed a difference in speed, but the great thing is that they have the slots on opposite sides, and the Sabrent ignores the write-protection notch on SD cards while this one (Transcend) does not
the worst thing is that it no longer works with ANY card, either slot
The only thing I don't like about this item isn't even a fault in the product itself: the USB ports on the front of my PC are horizontal, so when I plug it in and the card sticks out horizontally, it doesn't fit very well

SD card be read at the same time, it's not important enough for me to knock off a star
I knocked off a star because the plastic housing feels very thin and cheap, as if it will break under the considerable force required to pull off the cap, which I now leave off because it's so difficult to remove without crushing the housing.
Works as it should with SD & microSD cards, price is great.
However, I ding it one star because it does not work with my Samsung S5, though I am not 100% sure if I should blame the S5 or this device for that problem.

If you are looking for a great card reader, look no further
Although I'd kind of like this to enclose the SD card, this is likely better for cooling, and the cards haven't fallen apart out easily, so no big complaints.

I ordered this USB card reader when I could no longer use a cord for my Nikon DSLR camera due to damage to the USB cable plug-in rendered using a cable impossible
so I could easily transfer photos from my camera to my laptop without having to lug out a cable and further drain my camera batteries.
