  • One thing I was concerned about was if it would work with non Kuru
  • The thickness, the weight, the lead rotation thing that keeps the point sharp, the overall balance
  • Heard great things about these pencils but both of mine stopped working within about one month
  • Only thing I don't like is how much lead comes out when I run out and click for more
  • Only thing I would like is if it were weighted a little more like a more expensive drafting pencil

Reviews around quality (4.61 of 5)

  • It is a very comfortable pen with excellent writing quality
  • Quality is good, I like the plastic material, it feels way better than a metal one
  • It’s good quality, BUT difficulty to use
  • The build quality on this one is good, but I would go for the non retractable slide that is a bit cheaper
  • Don't overload the refill slot with too many leads as it will tend to clog the mechanism and won't uptake new sticks as needed

Reviews around point (4.45 of 5)

  • Very nice pencil which lives up to its reputation for ease of writing and an always sharp point
  • My only complaint: the need to deliberately break the point at times to re-awaken sharpness
  • A few of the benefits I found from this pencil are as follows:-Fine point allowing for writing of equations within notebook lines
  • The pencil also fits in the binding of my Maruman notebook, and excels at it's purpose of rotating the lead to produce a very beautiful fine mark while keeping that sharp point
  • The thickness, the weight, the lead rotation thing that keeps the point sharp, the overall balance

Reviews around feature (4.33 of 5)

  • Don't overload the refill slot with too many leads as it will tend to clog the mechanism and won't uptake new sticks as needed
  • The best feature is the collapse metal sheath that goes back inside when you're done using it so it doesn't poke through your bag or pencil case
  • The only really good feature is the retracting tip which is not thin and doesn't get bent when dropped.
  • This pencil felt a little wobbly and did not see any difference from this product versus a regular cheap mechanical pencil that doesn't have the twisting features
  • I appreciate the thought, and that's a good feature in theory -- but they did not put it in practice very well

Reviews around experience (4.16 of 5)

  • I brag about this pencil all the time to friends and have them try it out because it's such a great writing/ drawing experience.
  • Pipe slide is great, grip needs some modification for a comfortable writing experience
  • does what it says on the box, excellent writing experience
  • The .5 mm lead allows for a smoother writing experience than a
  • But the reality is the writing experience is worse than normal mechanical pencils

  • does what it says on the box, excellent writing experience
  • So this is a lifesaver for you all if you write hard like me:] just get it you won't regret it unless you don't like crisp writing!
  • The writing feels rough and isn't very smooth, but perhaps its because I am so used to writing with pens.
  • It always feels like you've got the pencil lead on the perfect side for smooth and clear writing, leading to sharp and crisp lines.

Reviews around line (4.03 of 5)

  • I really like how the pencil and leads work together to get consistent line thicknesses
  • However, something erasing an entire line of a math problem...probably will want to have a dedicated eraser for that.
  • and so I am enjoying the darker softer line it produces
  • It always feels like you've got the pencil lead on the perfect side for smooth and clear writing, leading to sharp and crisp lines.
  • I normally use the 0.3mm Kuru Toga for everyday writing and note taking while in class, as I have small handwriting and prefer thin, fine lines

Reviews around design (3.95 of 5)

  • Really like the design and concept of the pencil but the lead does still break occasionally.
  • The Uni is still a good pencil but just doesn't suit my needs but being a collector of pencils and pens I am still glad I bought it because it is a nice looking mechanical pencil, very well designed and extremely light
  • Really like the design and concept of the pencil but the lead does still break occasionally.
  • Though I did not purchased this from Amazon in the past, but I do love this smart design by Japanese and want to introduce it to people who like to write with mechanic/automatic pencil
  • Not the best design for the hand, rings at the bottom are needless and bother the fingers.

Reviews around model (3.86 of 5)

  • This is now my favorite mechanical pencil, the previous kuru toga model wouldnt stay sharp nearly as well as this faster rotating model
  • I much prefer the Advanced model with it heavier weight and better balance.
  • I miss the old Pentel model 535.
  • Love the way this feels in my hand, I don't find slim models as comfortable to hold
