The HDMI socket here in itself is rather critical, since most modern monitors/videos have HDMI connections.

It seems that *all* the USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 hubs have this same problem, even the one sold by Apple.
So far it has worked just fine as described as an adapter from regular USB to the new USB C format

It’s a good quality product, 2 usb 3.0 port, 1 usb 2.0 port, and 1 HDMI, it works fine.
All other products that I tried either overheated (up to being burning hot on my fingers / dangerous for fire), or did some crazy stuff to my monitor (flickered while the laptop was in screensaver mode/blank, etc.).Totu's hub is great, did not have any of these annoyances and is light and very sturdy built.

so bummed that Apple is always taking needed ports away from us, but this product solves that problem.

It works very well and I don’t need to buy the hard drive just one memorial card also works
Not so easy, my laptop had only one USB 3 port and both my external hard drive and SD card reader required a USB port, so this became a timely two step process
I can basically "dock" my laptop: get charging power, connect to monitor, connect to a backup hard drive on my desk and an Ethernet cable for best internet (I do not like wi-fi)
So far I have tried it with multiple flashdrives, as well as a portable 2tb drive and an arduino all plugged in at the same time in a MacBook Pro 2018
Used my IOGEAR CaC reader with it and a few hard drives
