  • The text message, location link and phone call works as described.

Reviews around service (4.33 of 5)

  • I always take my iPhone 5 with me, so I thought this would be a perfect thing to have since it syncs right into the iPhone app using bluetooth and does not require a monthly subscription (you have to have a smart phone with cellular service).Be aware, you have to have your smart phone close by for the alert system to work, so this may be difficult if you have an elderly parent that has dementia (it is a little tricky to use) or you live in an area without consistent, good cellular service.
  • Yes, v.alrt has flaws and the products with monthly services of $20 to $40 per month are superior, if you want to pay for the better service
  • It is great because now I dont have to pay those expensive monthly services at +$45, this product has no service cost!!The other incredible feature is that you can now go any place and you are protected with the V.ALRT, I just need to keep my smartphone with me and I will be able to call for help at any time
  • I think the service is good but the product was too easy to loose!
  • It is obviously included by the manufacturer because they want to track usage for their own purposes, and perhaps find a way to monetize this "free" service

Reviews around user (4.16 of 5)

  • For less proficient smartphone users, elderly, or for those with medical conditions, V.alrt may be less valuable due to complexities of operating a smartphone and its apps.
  • So we were unimpressed with their engineering inability to get creative and solve this technical issue for a blind user unless the solution doesn't exist due to software/hardware limits
  • Yet, for most healthy, proficient users of smartphones, V.alrt is well worth it at 10 cents a daily.
  • I encountered? For not-so-proficient smartphone users, here is another low cost method.
  • Overall, an imperfect security product, but a great value for proficient users of Bluetooth 4.0 smartphone users.

Reviews around phone (4.10 of 5)

  • Under default setup, the phone will start an alarm sound as well
  • I'm already paying for my smart phone and data plan, so it would absolutely be free for me.
  • Note that the device itself needs a modern smart phone with active cellular service within about 75 feet.
  • However, none of them would be able to use this because you have to have a smart phone to use this device.
  • She does not want smart phone, so we looked at using one of these simpler smart phones

Reviews around setup (3.86 of 5)

  • Setup was easy despite the lack of idetailes instructions
  • For ease of use, explained below, I recommend a necklace setup.
  • n’t had an “emergency” to have to really use it yet
  • Even with a second device in hand and successful setup, I feel it needs a more work and more quality.

Reviews around app (3.82 of 5)

  • First off the basics: the device is easy to learn how to use, is light and fairly discrete and the app works pretty well for the most part
  • The device is not as reliable as I'd like as far as connectivity and ability to send the emergency SMS message.
  • While it works really well, the app was the most annoying thing to deal with
  • The app was easy to install and the "button" was quick to find (just hold the switch for 10 seconds to pair).
  • it disconnects all the time, battery dies within 2 weeks, app has to be downloaded all the time and connects very poorly with the phone

Reviews around idea (3.80 of 5)

  • Great idea but software needs to be reworked to reconnect.
  • Turns out my iPhone is too ancient to work with this device, so I can't really assess the device itself until I replace the phone (not a bad idea every decade or so, anyway), but when I reported that the device wouldn't pair with the phone, I got a prompt response, with several followup emails and suggestions as to the specs of any replacement phone so it would work.
  • Great idea, but technology in this price range is still lacking.
  • Good idea but horribly unreliable, which makes it unacceptable for an emergency device
  • and she had to wait for my daughter to come home from work 4 hours later to rescue her!!!It’s a good idea but not reliable at all!!!

Reviews around function (3.75 of 5)

  • n’t had an “emergency” to have to really use it yet
  • Did I mention uncomfortable? The most significant function of this device was that I was at last able to place it in front of my mother and let her have a hands on examination
  • The first function works pretty well.
  • compatible!I sure would have appreciated finding that out before I opened the package, and I thought I did my part in finding out ahead of time

  • n’t had an “emergency” to have to really use it yet
  • I really, really like the concept behind the V.ALRT
  • Great concept but can only be used by someone checking if syncing who can also Always push and hold the button for alerting someone which is NOT realistic
  • Overall, the concept is great

Reviews around thing (3.34 of 5)

  • While it works really well, the app was the most annoying thing to deal with
  • If it was easier to stay connected, this thing would be great
  • It did the same thing — false alarms at all hours, sometimes 6 or 7 within a few minutes.

Reviews around battery (1.69 of 5)

  • Also the battery was dead when it arrived, but we had replacements on hand.
  • We test it periodically; this last time was when we discovered it was not working and the battery was dead after having been changed on 8/17/17 and it was now only 11/6/17.
  • This one also came with a dead battery so in the middle of getting mom settled at
  • Fortunately the batteries are quite cheap, so even if the battery needs to be replaced every other month, it's still cheaper than paying a monthly fee for an emergency alert necklace.
  • it won't work as that's about 40' with a standard hollow core door between.

Reviews around alarm (1.29 of 5)

  • We've had to agree that calls from me are probably false alarms.
  • I don't they should be so concerned about false alarms since you can cancel the alarm on the phone if you accidentally trigger it.
  • Absolutely not good for an older person not adept at handling their phone to cancel false alarms.
  • Again, this is favoring the avoidance of false alarms over utility
  • The device is not as reliable as I'd like as far as connectivity and ability to send the emergency SMS message.

Reviews around person (1.00 of 5)

  • Pain, as the elderly person will not be the one to understand how to get it to reconnect
  • It is supposed to activate if a person falls or has an accident but in practice that doesn't work so well
  • But this product in current stage is not helpful to a blind person.
  • The device also lights up if you drop it (meaning the person wearing it fell), and you can cancel the "drop" alert if you push the button within 60 seconds.
