A few bugs trying to get it set up, but the tech support is very responsive
I make a living providing tech support for an ad agency
These problems with bad tech support began after Whistle acquired Tagg and greatly increased the number of features the system was supposed to have
Tech support could not be better, they are available for all issues and, it seems, at all hours.
People who need the latest toy, however limited its use?The single best use for this is as a reminder for meds etc, but then your calendar/phone/spouse/alarm can also do that, without hanging a relatively large chunk o' metal around Fido's neck
Battery life is pretty good, we charge it about once a week and it charges fairly quickly
The battery life is actually pretty solid - I have a few wearable devices and most of those only last a few days at a time
We really wondered how inactive is he.... does he lay around as much as we think
ItPros:*Easy to use*Fits on the collar and dogs don't notice*The battery life is pretty good, and easy to charge.*Definitely waterproof (we've gone swimming almost every day this summer and no problems!)*Can post photos and comment on activity feed*Can keep track of food/medicineCons:*Battery doesn't last as long if you manually sync...

We recently ran into an issue with our Whistle, and their customer support was fantastic.

We've been dealing with customer support for four weeks

Conceptually Whistle is a great product, but it has not functioned well for me and the customer support is terrible.
We really wondered how inactive is he.... does he lay around as much as we think
Another cool edition would be if the Whistle realized when you were active with two or more dogs at once and in the app said the dogs were active together as well as with
One of the best features of the Whistle is that you can set up multiple owners and communicate with them through the app
However, the basic features got screwy - my home location changed from Santa Monic to a place a few miles away
Automatic syncing with the Bluetooth on your phone would be a nice feature as well instead of having to push the Whistle button until it pairs up with phone and dog
I then asked her if she could tell me what cell tower the unit is in contact with, that would at least give me a rough idea where it could be
All in all, a cool idea that will hopefully be better once GPS is added and some other minor improvements are made (i.e. it would be great if the aforementioned connection issues were fixed).
When I first saw it, I was intrigued and as a FitBit devotee myself I thought the idea was great
We really wondered how inactive is he.... does he lay around as much as we think
Having an activity monitor for your dog is a good idea, especially if you are away from your dog for extended periods of time or on vacation
Perhaps if I neglected our dog and put her needs far below ours this would be a great thing to help me assuage my guilt about never making time for her
I am really mad because I purchased two of these useless things - one for each dog - and purchased a 2-year data plan when I set up the first one that didn't work.
The mount should be metal, the whole thing should probably be more sturdy.
The entire thing is now completely unusable and will now buy the competitor product.
There is buzz about Whistle adding GPS in 2015; a good thing, but between the tags and chip, we're good for now
The Whistle collar is designed well enough to be confident that the dog's not going to lose the device
Unfortunately before i had a chance to get it on my dog the collar mount broke due to a very poor design where they used about 1/16 inch thick plastic to mount the $100 device
When the vet said one could lose some weight I upped his goal by an extra 10 min/
There is simply no reason for the Whistle to fail so frequently other than bad design and poor quality
The small piece of hardware is well designed, light, and nice looking when attached to your dog

The mount on the dog collar which holds the whistle is shoddy
Plastic mounting bracket cracked and broken after a few months of use.
However, the mount doesn't appear sturdy enough to keep from breaking if the unit gets snagged on something
The mounts keep breaking, the batteries don't last longer then a few days on a single charge (supposed to last over a week), and the nubs on both monitors have worn down so much that they don't clip into the mount anymore
