Using an appropriate device (like an Android tablet) the speaker is easily connected to the network and the software on said computing device allows for turning the speaker on and off and for streaming music to it
Yamaha does say that the device is not intended for use as a surround-sound speaker (so I can't really knock it down for all of this), but that it *could* be used as such
If Yamaha fixes this issue, this device will be perfect
Also, if your router does not have device QoS capability, time to upgrade

Pros:- compact & stylish design- loud enough for a small room- well defined, pleasant and clear sound - for such a small
We have a large 2-story home so getting music to play everywhere takes several speakers, this one was so nice we put it in the great room since it is where we do most of our hanging out and entertaining
This speaker sounds best with a little volume behind it - it sounds very good at moderate levels, but when I crank it to its max, it really sounds its best, room filling and detailed, but not overwhelming.

These are just initial impressions , won't comment on Musiccast but can't complain, everything works as it should
Airplay works as it should and the speaker is seen on iOS devices as a selectable audio destination.
A few of the embedded services consistently sound like muddy cassette tapes while others are crystal clear and produce a very robust audio range.
It really sounds great with a great range of treble and bass

One flaw, sometimes the connection fails and the quality of music is compromised.
If I use the speaker to stream Spotify playlists over Wifi it will regularly just stop playing; skip to a new song or lose connection
The Jongo has the advantage of having an internal battery, but its connection to WiFi and its stereo setup have always been pretty flakey, and its app isn't nearly as nice as Yamaha's
