It think it is probably about as good as a Sonos Play 5, but that speaker sounds better because Sonos has an EQ tuning setting which works pretty well and can make a big difference in the clarity of the sound

If HEOS is the reason you want this speaker, Id recommend Sonos instead.

The product literature (also available from the Denon Web site, if you want to take a look before buying) talks quite a bit about the quality of the speakers (four custom drivers--two tweeters, a midrange, and a ported bass) and amplifiers (four Class-D amplifiers) but from my standpoint, I hear clean, full-range sound at all volume levels
