I ripped out my old Logitech system and replaced it with Sonos.
Works great at first, but then for whatever reason, the system refuses to work.
Finally, there are endless issues with Sonos, and often times the issues have to do with incompatibility with various device software updates, so your system is dead in the water until Sonos also releases an update in order to be compatible
No question the best system out there in terms of quality, ease of connecting and adding.
The sound is fantastic and with the recent addition of iTunes support this speaker system is perfect.
I do prefer the sound when they are working as a pair in the room we use most
Sounds great as a left right stereo pair and as a 5.1 combo for surround sound for my TV.
I mostly use the Play 1 individually which sounds acceptable but they definitely sound better when set up as a stereo pair (easy to do on the fly and then revert if needed).
I can't ever really imagine needing to turn these up more than maybe 50% absolute max, even if you're throwing a really loud, crowded party
I now have a pair of them in 5 rooms and they all work flawlessly and sound great.
Admittedly, these speakers do not deliver the sound quality of the 5's, but when you consider the size of the format and functionality, they absolutely rock!Describing things like sound quality is tricky at best.
The cool thing is that you can run them paired as stereo, or run them separated- meaning, I can listen to electronica in the bedroom while my wife listens to jazz in the living room
The only flaw/negative is that these things are not cheap.
The best thing is you can continue adding speakers to your network.
The great thing about these products is that they are hooked up to your wifi directly and play directly from your music sources.
