I actually ended up making my own suction cup mount out of a cellphone mount - but at last Garmin have made one specifically for the Garmin 55.I also use my Dash cam to record 4WD trips, so good adhesion to the glass was very important.

Just make sure you clean the inside of the windshield with alcohol or lighter fluid on a cotton ball before adhering - if the glass is clean, this suction mount is well built and will stay put.

Fairly easy to use, but in hot weather you can expect to come back to your car to find the dash cam hanging by its cord.

The weather has been generally cold since I got it, even arctic temperatures, and the suction cup has been firm and solid

I waited a bit to review this suction cup because I wanted to see how it performed in the hot weather

Have no issues with the mount staying on the windshield even in our beautiful -25 or colder North Dakota weather

It works decent, in hot weather it's about a 50/50 if it will have fallen off the windshield when Its been sitting in the sun all day

The suction cup is horrible and yes, the glass is clean where I'm using them

Cleaned the glass, cleaned the suction cup, even tried adding some water to help w/ the seal, just refuses to stay up for any useful length of time, often just comes off while driving without any major bumps.

Cold and not scrubbed clean glass will greatly frustrate you with a constantly falling camera while driving.

Keeping the suction cup and windshield clean will improve life and performance as well.

The suction cup hold good and you can use it in another car.

Suction cup will not work on my dashboard because it is not smooth.
