Reviews around feature (5.00 of 5)

  • The second beneficial feature is the non stick cooking surface in the pot, which speaks for itself in preventing rice from clinging to the pot and clinging to each other, where rice is in contact with the cooking surface
  • Plus my husband prefers the warming feature which is the setting when it’s done cooking and the rice cooker is plugged in
  • The first and main beneficial feature is the steam escape hole in the lid
  • The warm feature will still cook your finished rice making it overcooked
  • You can steam veggies at the same time you are cooking rice, which is a good feature.

Reviews around cycle (5.00 of 5)

  • But how the heck does the cooker know what kind of rice or food that you put in the pot in order to cook for the time recommended in the manual and then automatically go into the warming cycle,...since there is no timer built into the unit
  • Do not let rice or quoina set on warm cycle, it sticks and dries out .
  • I have not discovered what causes this to switch into the "warming" cycle automatically, since the cooker also recommends a wide variety cooking times (up to 54 minutes) for some varieties of rice, or other food items
  • Hamilton Beach is leading you to believe that you can hold rice in its warming cycle without consequence

Reviews around veggies (5.00 of 5)

  • However, for many years I have found the absolute perfect way to cook all fresh veggies is to microwave them for around 3 minutes without any added water
  • I sometimes add some pats of butter or other flavorings for perfect veggies
  • I did steam some broccoli and cauliflower (without rice below it in the cook pot), placing the veggies in the white plastic strainer steam tray, with plain water below, and it worked just fine

Reviews around time (4.42 of 5)

  • This pot is huge and make the rice perfect every time no matter how much rice you want to cook!
  • With this cooker, it releases that excess liquid through steam evaporation, so that there is nothing left in the pot but perfectly cooked rice, if you remove it at the right elapsed time, which can be determined through your own experience in monitoring the rice near the end of the cook cycle to see when it is no longer crunchy, and has not started to "gum up".
  • Rice does not stick, is done every time, and really easy to clean.
  • I have a very difficult time trying to remove the white steamer from the pot as there are no handles and often times the vegetables are dumped in the water, as I’m attempting to take it out
  • So, if you want PERFECT RICE, determine the ideal elapsed time for your ingredient, on your first cooking test and then set your timer for future meals, in order to take it out of the pot, right at the buzzer

Reviews around rice cooker (3.72 of 5)

  • My previous Hamilton Beach Rice Cooker lasted 6 years but was broken in our move
  • This rice cooker is aesthetically appealing as well as easy to clean with no hidden crevasses
  • I love rice cookers, because when I make rice without them, it SUCKS.
  • Also, some rice cookers will burn the rice to the bottom of the pot *
  • I loved this rice cooker until it stopped working 6 months after I bought it

Reviews around product (3.53 of 5)

  • It's a great product I use it all the time
  • Exceeded expectation great product!
  • I wouldn’t recommend this product, it stopped working after 4 months and the warranty is useless.
  • Excellent product for the price.
  • The company offers a one year warranty and if I want it replaced or repaired, I am responsible for shipping and handling costs for having their unreliable product shipped back to them.
