Like so many of you, I enjoyed the Snark at first, which worked pretty well

A bandmate gave me a Snark, and it works MUCH better and stays clipped to the peg while I am tuning

If it isn't getting both strings to the same pitch, then tuning a violin or guitar is not getting your single string to the correct pitch some portion of the time.

The turner came very quickly, works great.

It worked well in finding the proper notes, but on the trebles, it "buzzed or vibrated"

I can even play songs with it clipped on to make sure i'm hitting the right notes

Just attach to the neck plunk a string and tighten or loosen until you can read the right note on the screen.

While the needle shows when the string is in tune, sometimes it displays the wrong note.

and it will tell you the note in easy letters, adjust and voila, your child has a chance of practicing and having the chance of hitting the right notes.
