I see that Amazon states that this camera can only be shipped in the U.S., leading me to believe that they are selling cameras meant for sale here and include a U.S. warranty
Of course, the most important thing is this: If you set this camera up correctly and point it in the right direction, it can produce some very stunning images with great dynamic range and color at more than adequate resolutions
ISO then you might find the camera frustrating as you sometimes will have to navigate the software on the camera.
Take a look at the storm clouds image I've uploaded to get an idea of dynamic range
The camera has other features including "effects," and HDR (high dynamic range) shooting, which combines two shots of an image using different exposures
The dynamic range and resolution are much more than expected, without going into laboratory analysis
I've originally bought a Sony in a similar price range because of the lure of a Zeiss lens, but had to return it because of the really bad image quality... not sure if I got a lemon or all of them were that bad, but I'm glad I did
The sound quality of the video however is pretty poor, but then again this is not a dedicated video camera.

Many have already negatively commented on the weak to nonexistent GPS feature.
I also own the D7100 but have found it too heavy for all day excursions around my neck and it lacks the movable swivel feature of the rear LCD that this camera has

The screen is a little hard to see in bright sunlight, no surprise
What I like best about the D5300: APS-C sensor; Live View; Fully articulated screen; Just enough customization menu items to suit my needs w/o making me feel like an idiot ;); wi-fi (I'm hoping someone develops an app allowing for remote manipulation of camera controls
The camera is very lightweight, has a gorgeous display, a fully articulating screen.
I find myself making the mistake of trying to pivot the screen the wrong direction each time.
If you're ok with no warranty, opened/used product and the wrong lens, then this might be the camera for you! :-)
It's cumbersome to change from the other kit lens (18 to 55 and then the 55 to 200) while out an about.
The specs are great and coupled with a good lens the results are amazing.
I will just tell you that if you put a great Nikon lens on this little body you will have superb results
If you're continuing on your photography journey you should certainly consider this camera and if like me, you already have some of the inexpensive kit lenses, treat yourself to a more expensive zoom or prime lens and grow your overall capabilities.

Not only the GPS is close to useless, it also drain battery much quicker
