Reviews around quality (5.00 of 5)

  • This camera is a well rounded performer with excellent image quality and great dynamic range that provides pleasing results
  • Bottom line is that the 80D is a fantastic product for under $2K. Although the Nikon supposedly has better image quality, the 7200 cannot do many things that I enjoy with the 80D. Great decision for me
  • Wonderful product, great build quality and a great camera.
  • This has been great so far and has great picture quality
  • I finally narrowed down my decision to the 80D and the 7D mark ii and went with the 80D, mainly for the newer features and better image quality

Reviews around range (5.00 of 5)

  • The Digic 6 processor seems be improved in the dynamic range department, and the photos look like they are exposed better than the T5i or the E-volt; however, in bright light like the bird pictures there isn’t any difference.
  • This camera is a well rounded performer with excellent image quality and great dynamic range that provides pleasing results
  • There is an improvement in dynamic range, for sure, but when you pull out those details, the noise...ugh
  • The colors and the dynamic range are amazing for a camera at this price point
  • It has 45 AF points, much improved battery life, and improved dynamic range even over the 70D.

Reviews around build (5.00 of 5)

  • I say all this because this is an expensive camera, and is so because it is loaded with features and has a solid build.
  • The menu program looks nicer and is more intuitive, the build is great but it's just like the 70D in that aspect
  • The 80D has that great Canon build, a reasonable price point for an advanced non-pro shooter, and just enough heft to give you confidence in it and to handle a variety of lenses (although the capable 18-135 USM is what I will use most of the time).
  • The 80D has weather sealing and has a stronger build overall.
  • Part of the reason this one is so expensive is due to its more robust build quality and some other key features like the larger battery, the weather sealing, the 100% pentamirror viewfinder, the added controls, etc.

Reviews around feature (4.78 of 5)

  • one of the best features of the old Canon 70d was it’s touch
  • The new features and improved AF system are worth the cost if you already have a bunch of Canon lenses
  • I prefer this over the joystick mode of Nikon, and the touch screen makes the joystick an unnecessary feature anyways
  • Other stuff (Important info and features that are neither a pro or con)1
  • The internal wifi is great as well with the addition of the android app for viewing and use as a remote are great new features from the 60

Reviews around screen (4.72 of 5)

  • Of course the 80d’s screen is also articulating and it’s something I
  • That's the main reason I use this line of cameras rather than the 7D or 7D II, which are supposed to focus a bit faster but lack the articulating viewing screen
  • The articulating touch screen makes vblogging a breeze.
  • The deciding factor for me was the articulating LCD screen which I found very useful on the 60D.
  • The fully articulating screen is actually not that common among even the best cameras (which is great for

Reviews around picture (4.62 of 5)

  • I got the Tamron 70-200 image stabilization lens for it, and it's working great, taking great pictures.
  • I am still learning to use this camera but so far its a great improvement over the t1i and takes super pictures.
  • Even on automatic I have hardly taken a bad picture.
  • The 80D does a great job with it's auto settings that create some great pictures and amazing depth of field
  • Upgraded from a T5I. Camera takes great pictures battery life is great.

Reviews around focus (4.40 of 5)

  • The quality of your lens will be a huge factor as well along with proper lighting and focus.
  • Keep in mind your Canon lenses will not work on those cameras, and even when adapted are not as ideal for auto focus as on a Canon
  • Even with my shaking hands in that high wind, it did an amazing job with its amazingly fast focus capability
  • It is a large camera compared to the point and shoot ones I'd been getting, but the images are so much nicer, and the focus is really great.
  • They brag about the 45 point focus system, but I've always found I get mediocre focus when I use anything but single point focus mode for action shots

Reviews around lens (4.23 of 5)

  • To me, this camera is a fusion of my old Canon Rebel Xsi (Yes, it's very old but still works!) and Canon PowerShot SX710 HS (with a good powerful zooming lens and video recording capability, very great for travel).
  • If you are searching around for your first Digital SLR camera and are dead-set on getting a Canon, consider buying the Canon T6i or even the T5i and using your saved money on a really good lens
  • Note: if you manually focus, then pretty much any lens is quiet enough.
  • I can use this on a Zhiyun Crane with a stabilized lens and get phenomenal results
  • The cropped sensor makes finding the perfect lens a bit difficult since they are made with full-frame cameras in mind (i.e. if you want a nice 35mm lens, you actually are shopping in the less popular 24mm lens range)Conclusion:If you are only taking pictures, you could find something better for just a little more money (full frame Canon), so I wouldn't recommend this if this is you.

Reviews around 80d (3.71 of 5)

  • I purchased the 80D on August 18th and have been blown away each day with how amazing the quality is, and the features this camera has
  • The 80d is not much bigger or heavier than the T5, but blows it away in performance and flexibility
  • As I have said a few times here, the 80D is expensive and might be more camera than you need.
  • The 80D clears buffer pretty well, but slows down considerably once it starts to fill.

Reviews around canon (3.64 of 5)

  • One of the things Canon does well is the layout of the controls.
  • Battery power, even with genuine Canon batteries, is very short compared with dedicated video cameras
  • It also seems ridiculous that Samsung can put 4k, 120p, fast slow video and Canon still provides the minimum HD video options.
  • However, canon 1080 is better than some mid range 4k cameras
  • I returned the Nikon, and decided to look for a less expensive Canon DSLR mainly so I could get my son the
