This camera is a well rounded performer with excellent image quality and great dynamic range that provides pleasing results
Bottom line is that the 80D is a fantastic product for under $2K. Although the Nikon supposedly has better image quality, the 7200 cannot do many things that I enjoy with the 80D. Great decision for me
Wonderful product, great build quality and a great camera.
This has been great so far and has great picture quality
I finally narrowed down my decision to the 80D and the 7D mark ii and went with the 80D, mainly for the newer features and better image quality

The Digic 6 processor seems be improved in the dynamic range department, and the photos look like they are exposed better than the T5i or the E-volt; however, in bright light like the bird pictures there isn’t any difference.
There is an improvement in dynamic range, for sure, but when you pull out those details, the noise...ugh
It has 45 AF points, much improved battery life, and improved dynamic range even over the 70D.

The colors and the dynamic range are amazing for a camera at this price point

I say all this because this is an expensive camera, and is so because it is loaded with features and has a solid build.
The 80D has weather sealing and has a stronger build overall.
Part of the reason this one is so expensive is due to its more robust build quality and some other key features like the larger battery, the weather sealing, the 100% pentamirror viewfinder, the added controls, etc.
The 80D has that great Canon build, a reasonable price point for an advanced non-pro shooter, and just enough heft to give you confidence in it and to handle a variety of lenses (although the capable 18-135 USM is what I will use most of the time).
The menu program looks nicer and is more intuitive, the build is great but it's just like the 70D in that aspect

If you can't afford it then you absolutely can take great photos with an older body, but if you can afford one this body is a luxury that will not cease to amaze you.
Made from a durable plastic, the body feels very solid.
This body is more worthwhile to those who want the advanced AF and touchscreen system for videography but are too invested into Canon Lenses to switch brands
The rest of its features make it a decent sports & wildlife camera body but, for those particular applications, the Canon 7D Mark II does a better job and is now at a much closer price point
ConstructionThe body is solid in feel and comfortable in hand.

Because the Canon 80d has such fantastic autofocus, having the touch screen really makes things easy, especially if you want to do some nice focus pulls
Even with my shaking hands in that high wind, it did an amazing job with its amazingly fast focus capability
They brag about the 45 point focus system, but I've always found I get mediocre focus when I use anything but single point focus mode for action shots
Keep in mind your Canon lenses will not work on those cameras, and even when adapted are not as ideal for auto focus as on a Canon
The quality of your lens will be a huge factor as well along with proper lighting and focus.

I cannot seem to get sharp focus regardless of what lens I use, probably an issue with this particular copy, I will most likely send it back
It is heavy if you are not used to a good camera and lens.
Note: if you manually focus, then pretty much any lens is quiet enough.
The cropped sensor makes finding the perfect lens a bit difficult since they are made with full-frame cameras in mind (i.e. if you want a nice 35mm lens, you actually are shopping in the less popular 24mm lens range)Conclusion:If you are only taking pictures, you could find something better for just a little more money (full frame Canon), so I wouldn't recommend this if this is you.
To me, this camera is a fusion of my old Canon Rebel Xsi (Yes, it's very old but still works!) and Canon PowerShot SX710 HS (with a good powerful zooming lens and video recording capability, very great for travel).

Whether raising your game to SLR level photography or having fun with a feature-rich, versatile SLR you can use pretty much anywhere, the EOS 80D camera is your answer
It features an impressive 45-point all cross-type AF system that provides high-speed, highly precise AF in virtually any kind of light
In dim lighting, it has improved low luminance performance to EV -3 and is compatible with most EF lenses (lenses with maximum apertures of f/8 or higher, and some lenses with extenders attached may operate at a maximum of 27 points)
It also features 4 types of AF area selection modes useful for a number of different AF situations
To help ensure photographers don't miss their shot, an Intelligent Viewfinder with approximately 100% coverage provides a clear view and comprehensive image data
Approximately 100% coverage means there’s virtually no guesswork when it comes to composition, and with all settings available at a glance, the Intelligent Viewfinder helps photographers keep their eye on their subject, so the image can be captured at the right instant
The powerful 24.2 Megapixel (APS-C) CMOS sensor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF for Live View shooting enhance the EOS 80D's performance across the board
Complementing the EOS 80D's advanced operation are built-in wireless connectivity and Full HD 60p movies that can be saved as MP4s for easy sharing.
