Reviews around key (5.00 of 5)

  • The keys are better and the knobs and sliders seem sturdier
  • Works exactly as advertised...semi-weighted, velocity sensitive keys (and decent sized keys, at that). The interface has zero lag when controlling vst/daw synth via USB, minor lag when running multiple daw tracks (barely worth the mention, and 2days later, i have already worked it into the workflow). The same goes for the din/midi connection, running it through a Planet Phatt (for laughs) and roland mc303,yamaha an200,dx200
  • Aftertouch not only on the keys, but the 4 pads as well?
  • I find 49 keys very usable for entering notation and experimenting with sounds

Reviews around action (5.00 of 5)

  • Without smooth action, it's really tough trying to pull off smooth sweeps and blends
  • I don't think they're scraping on anything, but they're way too tight for any smooth action and far too sensitive to use as a replacement for the knobs
  • The key action is really good, too, with a semi-weighted feel and
  • It's got loads of programmable sliders and knobs, and the actual key action is decent.
  • The keyboard has a precise, fast action, with excellent velocity control and aftertouch

Reviews around instrument (5.00 of 5)

  • If you're looking for a decent quality keyboard with a collection of good soft instruments and don't want to spend a fortune, this unit does the job pretty well.
  • Komplete is a great collection of soft instruments and the Elements version has many of the synths you'd want to produce most sounds you're likely to use while starting out
  • The Samson 49-Key controller has an extensive set of knobs and sliders which are all programmable using your favorite DAW or soft instrument on PC, Mac or iOS device

Reviews around knob (5.00 of 5)

  • The keys are better and the knobs and sliders seem sturdier
  • In reading the comments, the big complaint posted were the zippy knobs
  • (Keys feel great, faders slide easily, and all but that one knob feels smooth.

Reviews around quality (5.00 of 5)

  • Native Instruments Komplete Elements 8 software is included with the Graphite 49 and has a wide variety of excellent quality samples, effects and tools to get started with learning music production, composition and sound design
  • First, the pros:awesome padskeys and general build quality is solidhuge variety of control optionsNow, the bad part
  • The build quality, in terms of case design and weight, is GREAT

Reviews around package (5.00 of 5)

  • It has pretty much every feature possible in a well made solid package
  • The total package is nice here, as well, as it comes with an introductory software suite that, while mainly designed as an entree to more robust (re: expensive) options, nevertheless offers a nice swath of sounds

Reviews around hand leverage (5.00 of 5)

  • It's quite unexpected - but nice to play - particularly if your setup has the keyboard at desktop level where your finger/hand leverage may not be optimal, compared to sitting at an acoustic piano

Reviews around keyboard (4.33 of 5)

  • If you're looking for a decent quality keyboard with a collection of good soft instruments and don't want to spend a fortune, this unit does the job pretty well.
  • The keyboards were defective in both models I tried.
  • I can't really recommend it to anyone looking for a decent keyboard.
  • Good keyboard AND workable multitrack DAW interface, sure...why not.
  • I like the after touch and the adjustability, and in general it’s a pretty versatile and capable keyboard.

Reviews around control (4.21 of 5)

  • The knobs and sliders simply aren't conducive to good control over software parameters
  • The keyboard has a precise, fast action, with excellent velocity control and aftertouch
  • At the time of this review, the Graphite 49 goes for about $30 more than the M-Audio Oxygen 49, which has better controls; however, the Graphite has more piano-like playability and it comes with that nice software bonus
  • The pitch wheel is the most annoying control so far
  • I like the tighter control as the quick sweep on APC 40 was too much, which forced me to pay closer attention to what I was doing

Reviews around feel (3.34 of 5)

  • I like the key feeling and that it can be phone-powered
  • Additionally, I don't prefer the feel of the four drum/control pads
  • The sliders all work fine, but one is a little stiff feeling but has slightly improved with use
  • Great feel, not too heavy, not too much resistance, but like the whole board they feel solid and enjoyable to play.
