Tech 21 for years and didn't think I would like a hard cover
I had this item in my wishlist and had previously had a wonderful Speck cell phone cover for the iPhone 4
He's dropped the iPhone twice and the cover has kept it protected.
I love this Speck phone cover as it has a nice grip to it when you're holding it, not slippery like some cases.

The case stays in my hand pretty well, even with a slightly loose grip
The grips on back work great as well for a tighter grip on phone!

The colors are bright and haven't taken on the color of my jeans
Love the back but the edges lost their original color right away
My only suggestions is to get one with a darker color silicone because it is hard to keep the lighter colors looking clean.
I like color, but had to pick basic black and grey because the other colors were goofy play school color combos
Darker colors make this less noticeable, but while it doesn't bother me, others might be upset by the slight wear on the case

It isn't nearly as bulky as the Otter box and is just as durable.
PROTECTION, I have had SPECK cases on my iPhones 4, 5, & 6. drop upon drop, this case has worked as well as the OTTER boxes and the LIFEPROOFs

I know an Otter Box would hold up the fall, but the constant bulky size is not always something I want to put up with

Protection wise, this case is great, but I wish they put lesser rubber lining on the back or match it with the color of the hard plastic
The plastic at the bottom, between the speaker opening and lower right corner cracked and broke free
The lines are rubber, while the remainder is smooth plastic - so you mild to moderate grip.
The rubber lines on the hard plastic case help absorb shock when the phone is dropped.
The rubber grips on the sides and back make for easily holding the phone, as well as keeping it from sliding on a slippery surface

A couple of the grip strips have come loose and are hanging off after a few weeks
However after having it only a couple of days it was scratched unbelievably bad without placing it near something that would cause extreme damage
Used one just like it for couple of years- weak spot is above the charger opening where only the black rubber trim covers.
I haven't dropped my phone much, but a couple of times I accidentally knocked it off my bed or a counter and so far so good
works great and 13 y o loves it.

Well, I drop my phone a good bit on multiple different surfaces (metal, carpet, hardwood floors, etc.
Doesn't slide counters at all, but a bit hard to slide out of a pocket.
The case is not badly scratched up, either, it has just a bit of blemish on the corner from drop impact.
Also I dropped it from 5 inches and the corner cracked a lil bit.
I got it for my wife, who can be a bit rough on her phones
