gets good signal, it was easy to program was like programing the bct-7 i already have really nice set up the features are nice also also came with a accessory pack for the mounting in mobile and the cords for it also
This scanner appealed to be because I wanted one like this style, not the portable radio looking ones, as well as the feature of being able to use it in the home and car
Found it to be a very nice mobile unit for "quick scanning" of NOAA frequencies, and CB channel 19 - the WX and CB buttons are a great feature.
I like the features, especially the programmable private bank and weather.
This is a great feature when you are monitoring a band that has some activity but not a lot

I put it in the same place that my last scanner was in that the reception was great, but this one the reception is terrible.
Having an additional antenna stuck up in the window really helps improve the reception
Get the antenna outside of your house or car for best reception
My reception is terrible
The only thing I would consider if you are thinking about puting it in your personal car is to get a different antenna because there was poor reception with the stock one

Im going to be honest, concidering the reviews ive read so far i think this is a good radio and concidering they give you everything you need to use it without any aditional purchases, i think it's even more awesome.
If you are just wanting to listen to local radio broadcasts of workers going about their daily stuff it is the best because most of them use older, cheaper analogue radios

" i.e.; you can program your favorite frequencies into this band, and turn off all other banks
This allows the scanner to cycle through the "important" frequencies at a faster rate.
Too, you can't eliminate or lock out all of the frequencies you don't want to scan because there is a numerical limit to how many frequencies the scanner will ignore
The 800 MHz frequencies are basically useless in my area though because they are secured/scrambled
This means that you may not even hear anything that is going on with your important programmed frequencies in these other two Banks because there will be too much other noise & things going on under these shared banks/categories for you to hear anything that is going on with your programmed frequencies that you needed or wanted to program & listen to for your purposes

It is a bit harder to program, but if you look on Youtube you can find great information and step by step instructions for use and programming.
As for programming: Yeah it’s a bit tedious, but really no harder than setting stations on your fm stereo in your car
As stated by others this is a bit difficult for the unlearned to program
