My sim is on the ATT network...device should just work or allow api edits from within device.
to use other sim ..even AT&T mexico doesnt work ..
I can put the same sim in my tablet and it works great

For me the Velocity's consistent service stability and long battery life makes this a must have for ATT users in need of a hotspot
The pamphlets that came with the unit provided old customer service numbers which no longer work and direct you to a sales scheme.
The AT&T Velocity at best would show 2 bars for a few second then lose network service.

Where this device is most useful is for areas that only have ISPs that are running slow DSL like in my area of just 1000 people
Device is good, plans from AT&T are more limited than I would prefer but works well.
If that doesn't improve it, the device is getting junked
