Audio-Technica AT-LP1240-USB Direct-Drive Professional DJ Turntable (USB & Analog)
Style:LP1240-USB
This superbly made, professional quality DJ turntable is designed primarily for DJ use in nightclubs, touring and mobile applications. It can also be used by music lovers to play their record collections at home. Offers direct driv...
50% (press both buttons together) and slide the pitch control to minimum, the platter turns at the correct speed to play a 16 2/3 RPM record
This table delivers rock solid unwavering speed and excellent sound
Additionally since some earlier 78's were not truly recorded at 78, you can research, and maybe using a little math, play them at least close to their proper original speed, possibly for the first time ever
Speed is accurate and i like the detachable light for nightime use.
if you are a fan of Audio-Technica products and looking for a Professional scratch turntable, look no further, it's well worth the $400, I highly recommend this product.
I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone who is serious about venturing into vinyl.
I play records and this is a superior product for doing so.
It looks like the strobe lights on Super OEM turntables are little more than glorified power lights, given their lack of precision
So why would I consider a super OEM direct drive table marketed to DJ's for my home system
More features then tables that cost almost double and because these are Super OEM they should hold up for 5-10 years easily
All reviews are accurate, great torque, no static, and it's an adequate super oem...
This turntable is a "super OEM" product (original equipment manufacturer), made by a contract manufacturer and sold in different guises by Numark, Stanton, Audio Technica among others.
As soon as I started to mix and then went on to scratching I saw how strong the motor was
1240 comes with a stronger and better motor with breaking adjustments plus some cool looking bells and whistles which you may or may not use .I eventually picked the 1240
It has an amazing response time, great start/stop times, and a fantastic motor
It has a strong direct drive motor which is a big plus for me as I had to go through replacing the belts often
I cranked the volume at the end of an album and produced more amplifier noise than anything from the TT.I debated on saving the extra $150 and going with the LP120, but I felt the 1240 offers a stronger motor and a sturdier build
It has more torque than the 1200's and I love all the new modern features
All reviews are accurate, great torque, no static, and it's an adequate super oem...
Incredible torque and if you are mixing you will not notice the difference between these and techniques trust me...scratching is extremely fun on these turntables... you will not be disappointed and they even look beautiful
It has more torque than the 1200's and I love all the new modern features
It has "professional" details that I believe should be standard in most turntables that are not high cost adders, such as a three-prong, detachable power cable.
So, I dug out my old Technics turntable with its ultra simple controls, I had soldered in a set of excellent RCA connectors and cables, and it just destroys the AudioTechnica in sound quality, no boomy metal cover, simple and perfect
, I like the detachable RCA and power cables versus the built in cables, in case they break you can always change them to your favorite Monster cables, has a ground wire as well to eliminate the hum
This allows the user to select the appropriate cable length for the installation.

Turntable is excellent value; shipping process good; packaging excellent
I can't attest that this unit is better than the less expensive Audio Technica models, a better value than the Origin Live players, or better than my dad's Technics from the 70s if you have a receiver
In my estimation the 1240 remains a good sounding great value turntable
I cannot recommend a better turntable for money; its a great value and does everything I need
I cannot recommend a better turntable for money; its a great value and does everything I need
If you're a DJ I would look elsewhere or buy an extended warranty, and for sure if you bump this turntable over a PA system, you'll get an awful gong sound
My records sound good on my Marshall Woburn speaker with the Ortofon cartridge
I wanted a TT with good sound but not too much of a bank-buster.
I used the Shure 97e cartridge that was promoted with the turntable, and the sound was great
I thought the USB feature would be a waste, but the sound is so clean compared to the B&O that I'm definitely ripping my albums to take with with me when I'm away from home
I think it sounds as good as any high end turntable out there, with the right cartridge you'll most likely to be satisfied, I use Shure M44-7 DJ
Counter weight, anti-skate, tone arm height adjustments for precise cartridge alignment- Sound from the turntable's preamp \ line output (going to an AUX input on my stereo) was better than using the phono input on my stereo
that it doesn't come with a cheap cartridge though, so I could just buy a decent one
You do need to get a needle I recommend the Shure M97xE High-Performance Magnetic Phono Cartridge, there are others but this ones a good start for the money.3
After the better quality cartridge I purchased for this model arrived and I switched it, wow, best quality of sound I have heard, except through my SOL X10’s
