It delivers full-bodied sound and an enjoyable, musically-engaging listening experience regardless the program material
It is an incredible listening experience listening to CDs on the Emotiva and this unit is most highly recommended.
Like most here, my experience with this cd player is positive - so far at least
I've been looking for a new CD player to pair with my new tube amp and decided on this one due to other reviews across the net and my previous (great) experience with one of their amps.

Great presence and clarity as well as staging especially with vocals.

Recently my $6,000 Levinson 39 CD player broke down and the repair was too expensive, so I decided to try the Emotiva ERC-3 player because it had good reviews, offered balanced outputs and was very affordable
Following the advice of mostly good reviews, my ERC-3 arrived almost 4 weeks

My ML 360s DAC, a well-engineered unit with superb capability, is not able to clean up the lean, sonic signature of this CD player at this time
But It's safe to say this unit sounds pretty darn good for $500
37 sounded dark out of the box and that was an expensive unit back then ($4k).
I believe this unit to be good enough to put in any system
It would be pretty pointless and no value to say "I love this unit" or "it sounds great" if you knew I was listening to it using a JC Penney receiver and crap speakers
The quality of the music was great as long as it was loud enough to drowned out the sound of the motor
Great build, high class appearance, and outstanding sound quality
I was a bit hesitant to buy because I understand that Chinese parts have their reputation for poor quality a fact that might have influenced the manufacturer to offer an unprecedented 5 year warranty - similar to Mark Levinson back in the day
It has excellent sound quality, but the motor noise makes me worried
But if adding a play button affects the sound quality, disregard my comment and leave it alone
I have noticed some transport noise, but nothing so loud that it interferes with my listening
The transport noise might be more apparent in a room with better acoustics during quiet passages, but I think in most applications it will go unnoticed
Some folks have complained in other reviews and Internet forums of loud transport noise
I haven't had problems with discs not playing or skipping and the transport noise is the same as it was when I originally hooked it up
