Hohner Marine Band Special 20 5-Piece Pro Pack - Keys of G, A, C, D, & E
The one, the only, the original -- the harp that was there when harmonica blues was born. Made famous when played by every serious harmonica player from Little Walter to John Lennon, Paul Butterfield to Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and many, many ...
The tone is clear and certainly darker than a Marine Band
Chords sound beautiful, the tone is great, bending is as easy as it is on a Lee Oskar, and overblows are performed much easier on the Special 20 than a LO
I really like this set of Special 20's; it's fairly easy to learn how to get a good tone from them.
I love the tone, the durability of the reeds, the full clear range of these fine instruments
Chords sound beautiful, the tone is great, bending is as easy as it is on a Lee Oskar, and overblows are performed much easier on the Special 20 than a LO
Chords are nice and full, and the tuning seems very accurate
Chords sound pretty smooth, and single notes are generally in okay tuning
You are reading snippets from reviews of Hohner Marine Band Special 20 5-Piece Pro Pack - Keys of G, A, C, D, & E
The case is crap, mainly because it leaves little fibers on your harps.
The only negative is that, while the case looks good, it appears to be styrofoam covered with ballistic fabric
I always need new harmonicas, the case is quite nice too, the only issue is that they throw in an E instead of an F, E is simply not that common a key for most blues, no biggee, I'll buy another F separately, still a great price.
The case is pretty good, although it is a bit cheap, and made in China
The case is very nice and the special 20 is tons of fun to play.

Lastly, the price of this set was a steal
I got it really at a great low price, is that why 3 harmonicas had flaws
I just purchased a three pack of Hohner 530 Blues harmonicas for a great price - they are the REAL deal
Again I got it at a fantastic price, I got what I paid for it.
I wanted consistency, and this was the least expensive set that all the reviews seemed to feel had that
Hohner Special Twenty Harmonicas, and to have the perfect set of 5(minus the F) at this price was a great offer
The set is excellent, all Hohner Special 20's, each couched in the carrying case.
The case (which is pretty nice) has two extra slots, so I don't see why Hohner can't just throw Bb and F in there like they do on some of the cheaper sets
This is a really nice set right out of the box and they all have that very crisp harmonica sound that I like so much.
I got it really at a great low price, is that why 3 harmonicas had flaws
These harmonicas are of much lower quality than the Special 20 Marine Bands and not recommended
BUT FOR THE HONER CLASSIC SPECIAL 20 MARINE BAND HARMONICA
They aren't keys you'll really be using much so this set is perfect to get yourself started,Don't start by buying the cheap harmonicas first because you'll learn to play on sub-par harmonicas and will need to adjust to the Special 20's at some point
These harmonica have great reputation and I believe they are great harmonicas.
I wanted to replace my previous harmonicas with a new set to play with our band and progressive 20 are a mid-range good option for their awesome bending and warm dark sound
By comparison, the Suzuki Bluesmaster is great sounding too, but smoother sounding
I wanted to replace my previous harmonicas with a new set to play with our band and progressive 20 are a mid-range good option for their awesome bending and warm dark sound
3 of the 5 harmonica had one or 2 notes which did not play, just sucking sound.
The sound was off key and the effort to make a decent sound in any key was tough to stay motivated
