Reviews around edge (5.00 of 5)

  • Once I relieved all of the (MANY) sharp edges and corners, it played very well, and sounds great
  • And when taking down those sharp edges/corners, extreme care must be taken that no filings foul the reeds
  • Had to burnish the sharp edges, which was not easy, since this model is held together with nails instead of screws, and is almost impossible for a lay-person to disassemble easily
  • The sound of the Marine Band is good but the brass reed plates are exposed on the front of the instrument and have a sharp enough edge to cut you if you are not careful.

Reviews around comb (5.00 of 5)

  • I love the wooden comb on here
  • "MARINE BAND?"Aside from popularity, the Marine Band has a distinctive Pearwood Comb and produces luscious melodies
  • The sound is unbeatable and I like the sealed wood comb, but the 1 hole draw was blown out of tune in less than a month
