Reviews around price (5.00 of 5)

  • And this condenser mic, for its sleek look, its price and most of all, how well it worked with capturing my vocals, I give it five stars!
  • It was promoted on this Amazon page as being a great "entry-level price" providing "recording studio-quality sound" for "podcasting projects" while cutting out "background noise
  • The sound quality was excellent (I especially liked the vocals) although I can’t say it exceeded my other mics
  • The MPM-1000 is, in my opinion, too heavy to be used as a hand-held mic, but on a floor or desk stand or boom, it’s a nice moderately-priced addition to the home or small studio
  • In a room with no soundproofing you have to be pretty close to the mic (6-8 inches) to eliminate any echo, but otherwise they're great little mics at a great price

Reviews around look (5.00 of 5)

  • I don't want to skip over how cool it was when I opened the box and found it comes with a very durable and awesome looking case, along with a nice , quality pop filter that fits right on the mic holder
  • The CASE is impressive-looking, and provides the mic with tons of padding for transport, but I would have preferred something smaller.
  • I actually prefer the overall look of this mic over the MPM-3000 condenser mic in terms of aesthetics
  • And this condenser mic, for its sleek look, its price and most of all, how well it worked with capturing my vocals, I give it five stars!

Reviews around shock mount (5.00 of 5)

  • The Shock mount that comes with the mic is nice, but it is also very weak
  • Some ADVANTAGES of this mic: the shock mount, which isolates it from vibration
  • The shock mount is great - really cuts down on vibratory sound, even when I bump it
  • So for the price this has good quality, nice shock mount
  • It comes in a nice hard case with a good list of accessories: excellent shock mount, pop filter, and hardware for mounting it to a mic stand with or without the pop filter.

Reviews around doe (5.00 of 5)

  • Fantastic audio, great capturing vocals and does well when speaking, as it does a good job of isolating vocals to a point.
  • If you or your talent does not move around a lot, and neither wants to be harnessed by a lavalier, this is a very good microphone
  • she works for a fortune 500 company and often does presentations that get seen by some pretty important people

Reviews around construction (5.00 of 5)

  • The sound quality was excellent (I especially liked the vocals) although I can’t say it exceeded my other mics
  • Good construction, I've paired it with an extending arm and it is working quite nicely.
  • The mic has nice heft, solid construction, and all of the hardware feels really precision cut.

Reviews around microphone (4.62 of 5)

  • It comes with a shock mount to absorb vibration and minimize interference and a pop filter to minimize clipping and prevent saliva from corroding the microphone
  • I bought one of these earlier this year and loved it, it's a good microphone with clear vocals
  • and I need a better microphone that I was currently using with my recordings.
  • Based on build quality and looks only, this microphone is amazing
  • is seems to me to demonstrate the ability to seekIt could not be determined at why Japan`s authorized distributorI think because of its shape and specifications, and easy to use than the mpm-3000But, when it was found it is the same as the body parts of more cheap microphone of the companies had a little laughsaxophone, trombone, and then use the recording of the piano

Reviews around mic (4.26 of 5)

  • The mic is a touch bulky, so normally I wouldn't use this for portable purposes, but it comes with a sturdy travel case that gives you good peace of mind if you want to haul it around with you
  • Really great mic with any mixer this mic will sound wonderful
  • The Rode is a great mic, but, at $275, it's a bit of overkill.
  • Very good mic for the price and looks very professional
  • I would not be able to tell from the results that this is a relatively inexpensive cardiod mic.

Reviews around sound (3.94 of 5)

  • The problem I'm facing is that I cannot use the autofocus on the Nikon, because the Nikon records the movement of the lens--a horrible sound
  • Board and it performed perfectly, Great pro sound for my on line radio station
  • Clear, focused sound, insignificant proximity effect, no audible handling noise, and very low hiss
  • Great case and best of all a wonderful sound that mimics some
  • Since we're novices at the editing, removing such extraneous sounds was a real pain in the butt as well as very time consuming.

  • Would have loved a hard case like the MLX comes in, but this will just have to do for now
  • I don't want to skip over how cool it was when I opened the box and found it comes with a very durable and awesome looking case, along with a nice , quality pop filter that fits right on the mic holder
  • It's an affordable and good looking tank of a mic with great accessories and a really nice hard case, made by an established and respected audio company.

  • Lack of low end but with the right equalizer settings you can fix it and excite the vocal a bit.

Reviews around mics (3.37 of 5)

  • There are cheaper condenser mics on Amazon that sound better than this one.
  • Work fine, best for the price, better S/N ratio than a lot of much more expensive mics.
  • These mics do not feel cheap and look beautiful
  • The sound quality was excellent (I especially liked the vocals) although I can’t say it exceeded my other mics

Reviews around background noise (1.54 of 5)

  • Sound is very clear and focused, with virtually no incidental background noise popping up anywhere
  • Some background noise captured is easy to clean with the low pass filter of the TASCAM, and I liked the final results
  • The sound quality was excellent (I especially liked the vocals) although I can’t say it exceeded my other mics
  • It's not an isolation mic, so some may prefer the Heil PR40 or the Rode Podcast for isolating your voice against background noises.
  • It was promoted on this Amazon page as being a great "entry-level price" providing "recording studio-quality sound" for "podcasting projects" while cutting out "background noise

More about Marantz Professional MPM-1000 | Cardioid Condenser Microphone with Windscreen, Shock Mount & Tripod Stand (18mm / XLR Out)

  • Size:1000  |  style:XLR out If you know what you’re doing, you want to sound like it, too
  • Marantz Professional’s MPM-1000 Studio Series microphone is a high-quality condenser mic that delivers studio-grade audio performance along with unexcelled value
  • The MPM-1000 Studio Series microphone exemplifies Marantz Professional’s commitment to users who demand no-compromise components that fit within their budget
  •   Frequently Asked Questions   Do I need to use phantom power or a power supply? The MPM-1000 is a standard condenser microphone and will require 48vDC power, either supplied by phantom power through the interface or mixer, or through an external phantom power supply
  • Check the specifications for your mixer or audio interface to find out if it can provide phantom power on it's own, or if you will need to supply this through an external adapter
  • Here is a simple procedure for connecting the microphone: Make sure that the gain or volume on your pre-amp, speakers and headphones are all turned down
  • Use an XLR cable and attach the female end securely to the MPM-2000
  • Connect the male end to your microphone pre-amp or phantom power supply
  • Once the MPM-1000 is fully connected to the pre-amp, turn on the phantom power
  • While disconnecting, always be sure to turn down your pre-amp, speakers, and headphones before turning off phantom power
  • Wait approximately 30 seconds after turning off phantom power to disconnect the MPM-1000
  • This can help avoid damage to your equipment
  •   How do I mount the microphone and shock mount? The MPM-1000 comes with a shock mount for mounting to your microphone stand
  • It's always recommended to mount the included shock mount first before attaching the microphone to prevent any accidental damage to the mic
  • Here is a simple procedure to follow: Loosen the screw on the shock mount's mounting piece and move the mounting piece up so that it is free to attach to the microphone stand Hold the shock mount firmly in one hand and bring the mounting piece up to meet the threaded end of the arm on your microphone stand Instead of spinning the shock mount, continue to hold it in one hand while using the other hand to spin the arm of the microphone stand, screwing it into the shock mount's mounting piece
  • Once the shock mount is secured firmly to the microphone stand, position the shock mount for recording and tighten the screw on the shock mount so that it stays firmly in place Squeeze the wire clasp on the shock mount to pull the ring apart, slide the microphone inside and release the clamp to tighten the grip around the mic
  • Important: Always, make sure that the screws on the microphone, shock mount and stand are loosened before making any adjustments to their angle
  • Forcing any joint without properly loosening it's screw can damage and strip the joint, affecting it's ability to remain secure
  • The joints should also never be made too tight and should never require more pressure than can be provided by one hand
  • Again, this can damage the joint and affect it's ability to remain secure in the future
  •   The included mount won't fit on my microphone stand
  • Is it compatible? The MPM-1000 comes with a thread adapter that may come left inside the shock mount and can be easy to overlook
  • This can be used to adapt the microphone to fit on microphone stands with different threading
  • Most often this is associated with a difference in microphone stands between the US (5/8" threading, without the adapter) and Europe (3/8" threading, with the adapter)
  • The piece should be easy to screw in and out using a flat head screwdriver, or even just a guitar pick.    Which side is the front? The MPM-1000 is a side-address microphone, meaning the capsule is parallel to its body
  • The microphone will accept sound from sources perpendicular to the microphone body, as opposed to a front-address microphone, like the Shure SM58, that accepts sound from its top or end
  • When positioning the MPM-1000, the front will be the side marked by the Marantz logo
  • Point this side towards your source for the best results
  •   Do I need to use the included cable? No, you are free to use a different cable as long as it is a microphone cable
  • This mic requires phantom power which can only be provided by a standard microphone cable, otherwise known as an XLR cable.    Further Technical Support Whether you are a customer or dealer, if you already own a Marantz Professional product, or if you just have pre-sales questions, the Marantz Professional technical support team is available to help!
