This little inexpensive mic works wonders for those of us who like to play and record music, but cant afford the thousand dollar mics

Just like with any condenser mike it's a good idea to invest in a decent pop filter if you don't want those annoying popping P's in your recordings

If you care a lot about the quality of the vocals, or if you need to record loud sounds, I would recommend saving up for a better microphone.

This microphone is fine for recording guitar and soft vocals.

On the low setting, the microphone would in my opinion be muddy but on the high setting, I can hear a mouse wetting cotton in the next room.

It very quickly however developed a really harsh buzz, followed by complete cutting out (no voice transmission at all for a few seconds at a time, followed by a loud popping sound).

However, when I'm trying to record a grand piano or loud vocals, the microphone cilps and the sound comes out really fuzzy and distorted.

But XLR cables make it impossible for any humming or hissing sounds or disconnections of any kind since they lock in place and never need any toying with

as long as it produces great sound, that's all that matters

Now I don't have to fidget with those crappy 1/8" cables anymore, and there's never any hissing or annoying humming sounds to worry about

Then I hooked it up to the included shock mount and added a pop mic filter (VERY important you use a pop filter because condenser mics are sensitive to moisture from your mouth).The sound quality is far beyond anything I'm used to, but I must confess that I was one of those poor fools who didn't even know what XLR and "phantom power" was -- I only used mics with a USB connection or the 1/8" stereo plug, and they all sound terrible compared to an XLR microphone with 48v phantom power

Great product, the quality in recording is worth much more than the sticker price.

With musical devices, sometimes you just end up with a unit that has manufacturing defects, and unfortunately those people post bad ratings and make it seem like the product itself is to blame.

I was really in the market for a less expensive condenser mic.

its a very good condenser mic, super great for vocals very sensitive can pick up all your vocalsperfect for vocal artists

Only issue is that at times it's TOO powerful and picks up a loooot of background noise, but that's no problem with proper post processing and gain control.

They pick up far too much noise -- they are really meant to be used in studio applications with heavily treated rooms that have no background noise.

Connected to my PC via XLR-to-USB, the sound quality is very clear and there is no background noise or static

The other must have is a microphone that has low self noise.

I happen to know for a fact this microphone has a high self noise rate.

Anyone that is involved specifically with vocals / voice work or singing needs to get a mic that really has low self noise
