The "quick setup" using the WPS buttons on the extender and the router did not work
The reason for 3 stars is, the initial setup did not work for me
Setup was incredibly easy and works beyond expectation.
Setup was incredibly easy and works beyond expectation.
Setup is slightly complex as the instructions (necessarily) cannot reflect all possible options, but if you've set up a wireless router before, you should be able to get through in about 30 minutes.
I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this device.
Basically, the conclusion was that the device is defective.
This is the most poorly designed consumer unfriendly device I've seen in years.
Sleek and effective device that has been working well for over two years.
It does do what it is advertised to do, but the problem we had with it was the the b/g/n band, which is what we were using since we lack any AC standard devices yet, only provided about 10 Mbps, while the router it was counted to, which is also an AC standard device, was running at 50 Mbps
Had really bad wifi in a few areas in my house, now my connection is strong everywhere
Solved my problem with weak WiFi in parts of the house.
It provides a strong WiFi for my house and everyone to use!
This extender has boosted the wifi in our house exponentially
I upgraded my old Netgear router to a NETGEAR AC1200 with external antennas because of the intermittent wifi in some locations downstairs - especially outside.
My router is on the other side of the house and when I want to step out on my patio to have a cigar and get some work done I was constantly losing connection
Got this piece of equipment first, hooked it up to supposedly going bad router and BAM -- everything is working perfect now.
I was trying to set them up with the pathetic 2WIRE router that I have to use because I have UVERSE
My Netgear 750 router was being drained with 2 laptops, 2 smart phones and 2 kindles all using it
My neighbors across the street say the signal is as strong as their router in their house.
The extender works as it should and clears up reception in several rooms.
I personally would highly recommend this device for anyone who wants to expand their network especially to a weak area of the house.
He was not familiar with my situation, but lo-and-behold, he got me up and running (I take back almost all of the bad things I've said about AT&T).The signal in my 'weak' area increased from -82 dBm to -37 dBm on my Kindle's WiFi Analyzer.
Referred to Debbie's review before making my purchase.- Works as
but it does the job and will indeed boost signal strength in weak areas of your home as long as you make sure you plug it into a spot that it agrees with and that you have a relatively recent router/gateway that outputs a 2.5Ghz and/or 5Ghz signal.
we lost our password that was written on a piece of paper
Evidently it was not reset and the original password was still in it (factory fault)

if you lose your password and try and do a reset it is a pain in the A---
She wasted two hours of her life trying to get this gadget installed
I wasted hours trying to install a different brand wifi extender before returning it
Very frustrating to waste hours trying to get it to work
For a good 1.5 hours in the midsection, my computer was clearly the problem to them, then my router, then my ISP, but finally, they decided that it was their device.
I had read the reviews and saw others who have had this problem and didn't get any help, but foolish
I was contacted directly by Netgear and was sent this product for free in exchange for an honest, unbiased review
Based on a review by the top review here with the video I purchased this and am very happy.
Most of the people writing negative reviews claim that they tried for hours to get their extender to work, sitting on hold with troublesome foreign call center support, but if you just read the instructions, and use the most basic of common sense, the setup process will be incredibly quick and easy
I say this because there are a lot of bad reviews for this Netgear Extender
Seem to be having connectivity issues when it is in use.
I was suffering intermittent connectivity issues in my upstairs office to the point where I couldn't consistently stay logged into web meetings (I'm on Verizion Fios for reference)
Love the Netgear extender 5 🌟 s

I have not had any connectivity issues at all, and the speed seems good
so you use less data from your data plan and it can even power a wired device like a Blu-ray player, game console or smart TV without having to hook them directly to your router.
Turned out needed to factory reset the unit and then "hard wire" into my router to set it up
works good for connecting my wired smart devices to my network with out the hassle or running wires
I then switched to using my PC which has a hard wired Ethernet cable into the router
but I didn't want wires running all over my living room (a slight exaggeration, thanks mom).
