I am reasonably happy with this purchase and can recomment this speaker stand, as an adjustable height stand for you small speakers.
They look great, the different colored base plates give you options, and they were the perfect height!
The cable hiding method works and so far I have had these for a month or two and they are the perfect height (with the extension included).Highly recommended.
These are pretty awesome they are just the right height and support some fairly large speakers with ease

These were VERY competitively priced (a lot cheaper than the retailer - about 25% less even with freight)
To bad as these are attractive reasonably priced stands.
I'm using them as rear speakers in a surround system with my TV.The Amazon price on these is probably the best price you'll find on a pair of speaker stands (yes, the price is for a pair), and they are ~OK speaker stands
The supplied plastic washer that we are supposed to use when joining the 2 tubes is of horrible quality
I would highly recommend this product to anyone searching for good quality (and stable) speaker stands.
One other small quibble: the multiple choices for the base face plate (wood grain, silver, etc.) are nice to have, but the quality of the inserts is not very good
The biggest flaw is the interior design of the tubing; there are cross-welded bars that make feeding the wire down the tube an exercise in patience and anger management
having said that here are some ignorant design flaws:- The manual is really hard to read : Dark Images, not enough clarity, Parts are labeled
My main grudge is the horrible design: Once you assemble it together, you cannot "snake" the speaker wire through the stand to adjust the length
