I had bought a long cable from best buy, a basic red and white audio cable and just used the red side with a y-splitter at one end
I bought this sub at Best Buy and had it plugged in for a couple of days and it does a great job bringing out the bass.
I had purchased this subwoofer about three months ago at Best Buy.
Saw this at Best Buy, asked sales man if it would work.
I went home defeated, but read online about it since i noticed it had low AND high level inputs (which the Best Buy salesbro said would "by-pass the sub's built in amp and crossover"
The towers are wow-ing me over, more and more, as they break in.
To get all the features you will want, sound that is controllable & automatic shut off to save on energy & convenience, a better value is not to be found
I think there is better value for the money on the market.
If you are "Amazon Prime" you get this great value and outstanding delivery.
First of all this is an amazing value and a great sounding sub when it works
i was a bit worried about hum, since the more expensive "studio-quality" subs out there tend to use balanced 1/4" ts and/or xlr inputs rather than rca, but i've perceived almost no hum with this hooked up to my mixer's rca booth monitor outputs.
My listening room is not that big and as the bookshelves are very good quality I just needed the sub to cover all the basics and for this price and excellent

I use it with a pair of Ruark M1 speakers and I can get and excellent sound quality
As for the sub itself it is nicely powered by the built in amp (I have it usually around half way up on the knob) and seems to reproduce a good variety of bass, including some of the lower frequency tones some cheaper subs miss
I had my doubts at first purchasing this sub for my home theatre system

The SW-8MK2 is a great sounding sub, and it matches nicely with its sibling Andrew Jones speakers
Admittedly this is not the sub for room shaking home theater bass.
This sub delivers solid bass sound without excessive boom
I also tried lowering the volume and frequency on the back of the subwoofer...even if i turn the volume ALL THE WAY DOWN...it still plays a loud bass sound anyway
This subwoofer is more then I expected , very powerful and the bass is nice and deep
After about 3 weeks of low use, I noticed that there were extended periods (2-3 seconds, or more) of very loud bass vibration

When the stereo is not on, you'll hear a slight humming noise, but this doesn't bother us.
We had the Polk 10" & it would constantly make a faint hissing noise until finally it wouldn't work at all.
I have Pioneer SP-BS22-LR Andrew Jones and had great hope for the matching subwoofer SW-8MK2 in spite of the negative reviews on Amazon due to humming noise
Had an issue in that the Pioneer subwoofer had a constant annoying hum/buzz noise any time the power was plugged in.
When the stereo is not on, you'll hear a slight humming noise, but this doesn't bother us.
I have it turned to about 1/4th of its volume and crossover frequency capability and this thing shakes the whole house
As long as you don't expect to shake your neighbors house or blow you off your seat you won't be disappointed
Don't get me wrong its not going to shake your house off the foundation, its only a 8" with 100W, but it will fill in the low frequency for movies and TV very well
I have 2 and they won't shake the house but give you the bass that rounds out a system at high volumes

Extremely disappointed with the build quality and factory control on these units, and terrible customer support from Pioneer.
Other customers informed me that they too heard a buzzing sound coming from their sub, and more than one customer reportedly experienced complete product failure shortly after noticing the buzzing
The rating for this product is to me receiving an inconsistent product and getting the worst customer support I've ever had.
